You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

diddl Grin
Trudij - excellent - chuck in a sub plot involving the bingo hall being sold to build a new office block. \but saved at the last minute by Esther and her gang of blue rinse mates who manage to raise the money to save the hall when they win the State wide jackpot and Bingo! you've got a Hallmark Christmas movie classic Grin

dimples76 · 17/11/2022 16:11

Yes, don't forget the evil property developer who will either be vanquished or see the error of his ways

Raahh · 17/11/2022 16:17

dimples that's right- evil office block builder will realise snowy town needs a bingo hall more than they all need jobs, and he will quit his ££££££ job and become a part time bingo caller. Because it was secretly always his 'dream job'.

Of course, before the end, Esther's big city partner will track her down and try to win her back, and there will be a massive misunderstanding involving legs eleven.

But it will all get sorted, in the nick of time.

And Esther and the country star move back to Nashville. He is now able to write and perform again, thanks to Esther teaching him to love once more. (With his cute daughter as he was widowed 3 years ago.)

Grin

oh, yes, don't forget the child!

Trudij123 · 17/11/2022 17:45

We could be onto something here 🤣🤣

Ilovehatecleaning · 17/11/2022 21:53

@Trudij123 I really thought it was a film too. Brilliant.
I saw Christmas Wedding Planner today. The end was actually too cheesy.

Have found my people!
I love the channel 5 films they put on like everyone has mentioned.
Hats off for Christmas and the miracle series are fab. Pure cheese but just love it. Makes me want to escape my life and disappear to Vermont and be all Christmassy as someone said upthread.

JaneJeffer · 18/11/2022 01:26

I put on Merry Liddle Christmas to cheer myself up after the shitty I'm a celeb thread tonight. Everyone is so gorgeous in it and even the granny looks like a 30 something! I think I'm more depressed now Grin

AssumingDirectControl · 18/11/2022 06:40

I watched A Very Nutty Christmas last night.
Weird isn’t the word 😂
I am not quite sure how the lead woman fell for the man though, he was a “nutcracker come to life” who didn’t behave like a normal adult male at all. But I suppose he had a good beard.

MilkyWaytoday · 18/11/2022 06:44

Sorry if mentioned but saw a lovely one where a nurse from the war gets transported to the future. Had a really lovely storyline. Definitely one of the best I’ve seen, really moving and decent film. Sorry can’t remember the name though!!

caringcarer · 18/11/2022 07:43

I sometimes watch the Xmas movie Chanel started in October. My mil watches it too. We only tend to watch when dh's not around.

Journey back to Christmas?

I quite liked that as well.

Deathraystare · 18/11/2022 08:45

I got my friend into this channel. Not sure if she will thank me or not!!!!!!!

Frosty1000 · 18/11/2022 10:17

Just watching a Christmas cure on prime as I'm poorly so need non brain taxing cheese. Not bad so far.

ShakeYourFeathers · 19/11/2022 14:04

Watching 12 pups of Christmas on channel 5 whilst making the Christmas cake. The dog also seems to be enjoying it

Ilovehatecleaning · 19/11/2022 14:35

@ShakeYourFeathers Glad your dog is enjoying it. I've just seen it's on and it's almost finished so will catch it on 5 later

Saw Christmas Getaway. It was good and wasn't quite as cheesy as some. This might have been because I recognised some of the actors from other work. Leads were very good looking but she didn't look as great when she had lots of make up on. She was beautiful and it looked like a mask. I recommend the film.

Also saw a Timeless Christmas as recommended on here. It was a pleasant watch.

I watched Operation Christmas on Prime while doing the ironing today it was a good watch even though I could see the ending coming a mile away.

I always wonder how the little towns have a thriving Main Street with cafes, toy shops etc & great transport links (often have a bus or train station) - our local little town has boarded up shops & can only get a bus about once a day and there's definitely no handsome, solvent widowed doctor with a perfectly behaved child

MilkyWaytoday · 19/11/2022 18:41

@diddl yes! That was the one.

ASMRTingles · 19/11/2022 23:03

Thanks to this thread I have been introduced to the European prince genre of cheesy Christmas films! I love how European seems to translate to English aristocracy - as one of the characters says “Europe’s basically all one big country” Grin

In return I offer the SNL parody of Hallmark Christmas films m.youtube.com/watch?v=MSzytvDsPfo

DarkDarkNight · 19/11/2022 23:13

I love them, will read the whole thread but off the top of my head A Very British Christmas which follows the formula exactly, and Mrs Miracle with Ray’s mother from Everyone Loves Raymond. I have Mrs Miracle 2 on my planner to watch.

diddl · 20/11/2022 15:35

Are the channel 5 ones not going onto My5?

Can't find the 12 pups one.

Maybe just as well though as this will be the first Christmas without our boy.😢

It's spot on Grin
Especially the cookies. Grin

I've just watched a very typical one- bloke wishes for a different life, more money, better job, wakes up in 'new life' - and then realises his old life was just perfect after all (starring Teri Hatcher and James Denton- who were both in Desperate Housewives together).
