What trickery is this! Why did no one tell me. I always felt I would make a rubbish witness to a crime but now it is confirmed.

It's the most perfect TV show. Suitable for all ages, warm funny and a bit emotional. The HH troupe are such genius writers and performers. Plus the Captain and Thomas are rather easy to watch too

The plague pit ghosts have come upstairs before though... that episode where they fall out with each other?

I only noticed this now as well.

I felt this episode lacked something. Still good but not as good... 🤔

Took me all four seasons to realise Humphry and Robin are the same actor! Currently eating dippy eggs in honour of Pat 😁

OMG I never realised this, but a quick google confirms it is so. Mind blown.

It took me until halfway through series 2 to realise the plague ghosts were played by the same actors as the upstairs ghosts, which I think is genius.

The Captain tried to persuade them back in S1 (while he wasn’t speaking to the rest of the upstairs ghosts because they’d had a falling-out) to come up and settle in the rest of the house, but they didn’t particularly want to. They just preferred the cellar/pit.

In an earlier episode (the one where the hotel chain was doing a survey I think) The Captain asks them why don't they want to move and live upstairs and they said they liked it in the cellar, it was where they were left together and they were happy down there or something along those lines. So they've always had the ability to move around just chose not to.

Glad others noticed the Kitty voice too, hopefully just a persona for the Thomas assistant role and not a permanent feature!

do I take it robin stole the man’s furs and why he died ? Or stole them after he died ?

Robin did a dodgy deal with the man, exchanging a naff ‘tool’, which he’d cobbled together for the man’s furs. The experts decided the man died because of hypothermia (as Robin had scammed him out of his clothing) at which point Robin decided he didn’t know the man after all!

I found out last week that there is a U.S. version of Ghosts, watched a couple of scenes............it is diabolical

I watched a few bits on YouTube and it seems awful a bit different.😕

I admit to feeling a little disappointed in episode 1 of this series.

But to cheer myself up I rewatched 3 episodes from earlier series and I'm STILL finding things like missed on first viewing...
Eg to celebrate Kitty's birthday, Alison says they are going to watch her favourite movie The Wizard of Oz.
And The Captain quietly says "oh! Dorothy!"....

The draw for the Cellar Ghosts this time was the portrait of Thomas.
I get the impression that any previous attempts by them to haunt the upper parts of the house were firmly repelled by the other group. Robin and Mary are slightly patronised by the others (or were in earlier series) although they are coming into their own more now. Part of that is due to Alison and Mike bringing in entirely new concepts to all of them, even Julian and Pat, so they are all slipping into the past faster than they’d like.

On bbc sounds app @Blondeshavemorefun called "inside ghosts".
I'll be interested in what you think. I found the presenter irritating 😟
I thought it would be fronted by the main cast members like the inside inside no. 9 podcast was presented by Reece Sheersmith and Steve Pemberton.
