Doing a cameo is not the same as committing to filming a whole series. I don't see why her plague ghost couldn't come back.

As he ghosts appear in each others flashbacks, could Mary appear in those potentially?

The Christmas Special was delightful. I loved the way they play with the tropes of other drama: the play within a play that Shakespeare loved to use. The nervous-at-the-last-minute player - think The Full Monty.

The time given to the Alison/Mike relationship has paid off and surely the baby who can see ghosts will soon be on the way.

I had a bit of tear about Pat, and Thomas was great as the terrible director, all 'Lars von Trier' as the Guardian review saw it. The Smiths!!! I just checked the album cover - The Queen is Dead and the track - possibly Boy With A Thorn in His Side as the ghost is called Thomas Thorne. Can't you tell I used to teach English?

I agree a new female ghost is needed.

I’m rewatching them with my DS and the episode with the burglars is hilarious. Kitty and Mary taking inventory is the best part, they are so funny together! Definitely need a new female character.

And according to the stars on twitter they have now started filming S5.

Just a heads up. BBCiplayer is now showing series 1-3 as expiring on thursday. they may simply renew it for a further period but just in case.

Very annoying if it comes off as I wanted to rewatch with my DD. We have just finished series 4 and wanted to go back to the beginning again. Its our friday night thing.

Anyone else watching the new season of You on netflix? Charlotte Ritchie is in it. I'm two episodes in and I thought I'd only see her as Alison and expect her to keep looking over Joe Goldberg's shoulder and see ghosts! But it's a testament to her acting skills that I haven't at all, she's very different in it.

@Pumpkin314 - just watched the first episode of You tonight. I couldn't place where I knew her from to start with. It doesn't seem right, she seems a complete cow whereas Alison is so lovely!

I saw the trailer for You and thought, ooh good for her. Having seen her on Taskmaster, she seems close to Alison irl. Have seen her in Fresh Meat and also in Feel Good, where she was in a relationship with a lesbian then non-binary Mae Martin. She was excellent in both. She also plays another Alison in Dead Pixels - a world-weary but again patient version to her gamer flatmate.

I knew her from Call the Midwife. It took me a couple of series of Ghosts to stop calling her Barbara!

Roll on season five!
