I misses what Lionel said about previous partners/ sex! What did he say? (Wrestling with a huge ironing pile at the time- so glamorous).

Puffalicious · 14/09/2022 15:46

Missed

coldfeetmama · 14/09/2022 16:16

@Puffalicious I think she was telling him what she likes and doesn't like in bed .. he related this back to her having sex with previous partners and took offence ... I think ?

JudyGemstone · 14/09/2022 16:28

I think that’s right, basically he was being a giant walking talking red flag and revealing how much of a nightmare partner he would really be.

MrsWhites · 14/09/2022 16:42

April is definitely the mean girl, thought her illness was very convenient too.

I liked Richie at first but I’m finding him creepy now, did anyone else notice when him and Lara sat on the sofa together and even though it was super awkward between them and they hadn’t spoken for a few days he was playing with her hair? He’s just trying too hard, it’s like he’s read a book about how to be romantic and he’s going through it step by step!

marmiteadict · 14/09/2022 16:49

Yes I believe Lara was telling him her preferences sexually and Richie was upset because he felt she was telling him about experiences with previous partners.

He's 51! Did he expect a virgin partner of a similar age ? He's stuck back in the double standards of the 70's and 80's and needs to grow up.

Kasia dressing up overtly sexually for the dinner party was telling in that I think she was making a statement that she is a sexually desirable woman and making him see how everyone else sees it.

Her angry bad boss bitch speech was clearly because she was upset at being rejected. She would have been better asking him why he didn't tell the experts that looking a certain way as a woman was a deal breaker. (Thinking about it he probably did)

Zoe's adamance that she doesn't want to know Jenna's reasons for becoming a vegan in case she turns her is clearly frustrating Jenna.

However, Zoe has already said she lives in a town with few other LGBT, works in an all male environment and comes from a traditional family. Maybe she worries being Vegan will be just another way she feels different to those around her. As a vegetarian with Northern family I can sympathise. They are astounded I 'don't even eat ham'

He seemed to be peed off at Chanita when they arrived for the dinner party - so I reckon what had happened betweem him and April was that A told Thomas that C had been botching about him, hence why she called her a bitch etc.

I REALLY do not like how they're allowed to mix with each other outwith what we are seeing, it isn't helpful. They could all be discussing anything at all which would totally affect the next episode - inc Whitney possibly being told to rein it all back or she won't get any promo deals when she leaves - and potentially is what has changed her behaviour overnight. It totally meddles with the entire point/format.

It's always been like that though.... They aren't prisoners who have to perform when the cameras are on and must sit in silence when they aren't.

In the recent Australian one there were the now infamous 'photo-gate' which we didn't see happen onscreen either.

This reminds me of the rules for group therapy 😂 I agree with you though!

I missed all this too. I can only think my brain was two steps ahead and deliberately distracted me from thinking too hard about Lionel doing his thang.

But I’m not surprised at this. Lionel lives in Lionel world, his world view is entirely Lionel -centric and woe betide anyone having an opinion or experience that deviates from his core belief that he is hard done by. He makes my skin crawl.

But he won’t be doing it tonight as I’m currently heading to Stamford Bridge with DS to see his team play Salzburg. The sacrifice I’m making! I’m going to be bored shitless. DS is going to have to let me MN at the same time or I might fall asleep. 😁

PutinIsAWarCriminal · 14/09/2022 18:18

The experts are reading or listening to Lara, are they. They are making it all about what Lionel needs. They did it on the sofa last week and did it at the dinner party last night.

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 14/09/2022 18:18

I can't wait for tonight's commitment ceremony!
Thomas and Adrian can really make this work but to be fair to Adrian, although Thomas is the friend you would always want in your corner he seems exhausting as a partner. But their tender moment last night at the dinner party was so lovely.
Jenna is a melter. I've heard 'this is how I live my life' 500 times. Yeah you're vegan. Good for you. Zoe seems brilliant and really genuine too.
Kasia is embarrassing herself and Kwame is selfish.
Lana and Richie are both hard work but to be fair I can understand Lanas struggle in being with a man in his 50's who's always lived at home.
George and April- both awful.
Jess is an annoying fake. Pjay seems just amazing and how she doesn't fancy him is beyond me!!
Chanita and her husband (I forget his name) - she does seem really genuine and I think they have a good chance.
Whitney and Douka - now they seem to be doing good, I'd love to see them make it work.

Sunbird24 · 14/09/2022 18:23

I bet April is miraculously better in time for the commitment ceremony…

Oh FFS! He IS stuck in the 70s. Jesus, what a dick.

Not all Northerners, though, I turned veggie in 1985 (tender age of 13) and it's never been a big deal. Jenny is just a living stereotype of the old joke: " How do you know someone is a vegan? They'll tell you, then they'll tell you again, and again, and again..."

coldfeetmama · 14/09/2022 19:22

@Puffalicious " not even wafer thin ham ?"

Cannot remember if it was Rab C Nesbitt or Mrs Brown
😂😂😂

KitsyWitsy · 14/09/2022 19:28

Royle family wasn’t it?

coldfeetmama · 14/09/2022 19:30

Ah yes , that sounds about right @KitsyWitsy thank you !

Mumdiva99 · 14/09/2022 19:58

Team Tom over April anyway.

I never watch The Batchelor but for some reason I did watch the gavin Henson one....I don't remember the girls specifically - but weren't there 2 at the end he really liked? I might have to look it up.

Furiously clicking bookmark so I remember my where I got to here. (I just read 10 pages of comments to find one from me I so must have read them before.) No mum taxi tonight means I can watch at nearly the right time with you all.

Who's leaving Kwamememe (maybe but he would like more exposure)
April and George hopefully.....

MrsWhites · 14/09/2022 20:01

Jenna won’t be happy until she converts Zoe, she harps on about her own ‘lifestyle’ but she isn’t interested in Zoe’s. It must be difficult to be paired with someone with very different choices in life but surely that’s to be expected on a programme like this - why would you go on if you aren’t prepared to compromise?

dapsnotplimsolls · 14/09/2022 20:10

I've just realised it's on until 10.35 tonight!

TitsInAbsentia · 14/09/2022 20:41

Holy bobcats! I've just looked up April on the Bachelor (with pan faced Henderson) and she looks quite different, perhaps she's now more angular of face, I'm not sure....

Anyway, I've of course also had an insta stalk because I am fascinated, and I have decided I too could become a bridal wear designer because even I could do better than this absolute honker of a 'wedding jumpsuit'...

TitsInAbsentia · 14/09/2022 20:43

Although if I ever got married again I'd just bulk buy some tan tights and a few doilies... www.instagram.com/p/CJ1EiIXlCVD/?hl=en

As long as it doesn’t fit properly looks like you’d fit right in

beastlyslumber · 14/09/2022 20:56

OMG those dresses. What's wrong with her?!

Bluetrews25 · 14/09/2022 21:01

Must have missed it, but why is Richie known as Lionel on here?
