Whitney had a complete turnaround. She even seemed quite sweet when she was joking about rolling her eyes.

JellyBeanFactory · 14/09/2022 00:09

Anyone else notice a little flirtation between Lara and George?

Did April catch Covid from Jenna?

Thomas exhausts me. Captain Curtains deserves a medal.

Pjay needs to open his eyes WIDE. With all that hair tossing and lip wanking, Jess should squeeze herself into another tiny outfit and toddle off.

Zoe is not going to find her happy after with Jenna. Jenna wants everything to revolve around her and her lifestyle (not just the veganism).

Kwame and Kasia. Nah. Not impressed with either of them. Both too big for their faux leather boots.

Golden couple Chanita & Jordan. There's a few issues there beginning to surface but hopefully they can sort it. Unless the edit changes of course.

I wonder if Whitney & Duka will be the only couple to find love... that would be a turnaround!

SunburstsOrMarbleHalls · 14/09/2022 01:07

Late to the thread but enjoying this year so far.

April & George – Editing is doing George no favours he seems to go from chill to Mr Angry pulsing head vein in 0.05 seconds. April comes across as an professional crier if she is called out. I honestly think April is in it for self-promotion whether personal or professional (wedding dress design). I’m not sure long term where this can go as I would be surprised if April wanted to move away from the capital.

Chanita & Jordan – Was hoping these two would be this year’s success story but I don’t think it will be all plain sailing. I like the confidence Chanita displayed with Thomas when discussing the latest drama. She had been shown to be very bubbly and easy going so it was good to see her assertive side. Jordan seems to be playing the loveable class clown but not really had a chance to see his true character.

Jenna & Zoe – The vegan and the meat eater; never the twin shall meet. Both seem nice people, we have seen Zoe’s wit and caring side and Jenna has exposed her vulnerable side regarding her alopecia. Jenna seems unaware of how preachy she comes across and I genuinely think she means no malice but Zoe seems to be getting more and more concerned with their dietary/lifestyle differences.

Jess & Pjay – The reoccurring theme is about Jess wanting/expecting to be looked after and I thing she needs to rescue herself instead of looking for someone else to do it. Her mum seems to have reinforced this expectation too.
Pjay seems a lovely, calm, patient and respectful person. His job might be divisive but he seems to have his head screwed on and comes across much more mature than Jess. The fact is Jess doesn’t fancy him and I don’t think this will change as the chemistry isn’t there.

Kasia & Kwame – I hate how thirsty Kasia has come across, I don’t know it this is manipulated editing or genuine. She is a beautiful, savvy woman and I struggle to see how she would want to be with someone who rebuffed any kind of physical intimacy repeatedly. Kwame comes across as being on the show to promote Kwame and the Kwame podcast. Would not be surprised to discover a secret partner further down the line.

Lara & Richie – Lara clearly wanted a solvent, mature, experienced equal and the matchmakers seem to have thrown her under the bus and given her a needy, dependant man child. She looked so uncomfortable during the honeymoon. it was cringy to watch their interactions.
I struggle to believe that Ritchie is so oblivious to Lara’s obvious discomfort as she was literally rigid and avoiding all eye contact. It appears the penny has finally dropped though and I thing Lara would prefer someone like George as
partner. Richie may be a lovely guy personality wise but he acts like he wants mothering or wants to be looked after and that is a bit grim.

Whitney & Duka – Not sure why Witney is on this show. Its either going to be an epic story of self-discovery and humility or it is going to play out exactly like it did with Nikita last year. Duka must really want to stay on this show for some reason.

Adrian & Thomas – Adrian is the calm and Thomas is the storm. The tantrums and volatility from Thomas may be a defence mechanism but unless Adrian has the patience of a saint this relationship is unlikely to survive. In many ways Thomas has a similar personality to drama llama Nikita from last year and he can be exhausting to watch. Adrian originally came across as a pushover but he seems to be challenging Thomas on his behaviour more frequently. Thomas needs to learn that you cannot spew venom at someone then expect that by saying sorry it will make everything fine again.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 14/09/2022 07:59

I’m definitely Team Thomas.

I expect that if Thomas considered you a friend he would do whatever it took to defend you. I don’t get that vibe off super vapid April, that’s for sure.

I hope Thomas realises that he’s done probably the best out of the contestants in terms of having a kind, decent partner. Not that he should be grateful, imo it should be a given that you get a kind and decent partner, but more that he realises that men and women like patient Captain Curtains are rarer than hen’s teeth.

hugefanofcheese · 14/09/2022 08:32

I wouldn't put it past Thomas egging April on for gossip but would trust him more. Making George do that abseil was really unkind whereas Thomas has zero emotional regulation when challenged but was really encouraging and engaged about CC's singing and cooking tasks so I think has a genuine warm side. Adrian has the measure of him entirely. I think even if he tires of all the high drama they will remain good friends.

Urgh kwame putting kasia in that position of having to try and save face with that 'there are 2 types of woman and you're the wrong one' shit. How awful. If ever there was a time for a nice simple 'you're very attractive but just not my type' this was it.

Zoe and Jenna are both decent, intelligent women. Why can't they just agree to disagree on bloody veganism and decide on how to store meat/ use different pans/ whatever?! I reckon producers are stirring it.

We are being fork lifted towards a Lara and George storyline!

Lovely Pjay. Jess is entitled not to fancy him but the more this goes on, the more she looks like her judgemental mother. I think she will live to regret dismissing such a sweet guy based on some fairytale ideals.

marmaladepop · 14/09/2022 08:41

I can't understand why they match people who have children with those that don't. It's really wrong. Surely they should get asked about that before they are matched up.

A580Hojas · 14/09/2022 09:06

Sunbird24 · 13/09/2022 21:46

Why do the ixperts react to the questions like they had no idea where they came from? Does someone else write them?

Exactly what I thought. The fakery on this show is faker than April the fakest contestant.

A580Hojas · 14/09/2022 09:12

Bananarama21 · 13/09/2022 21:56

He wants to be with someone slimmer. He doesn't find her attractive but he should be honest.

He has been totally honest without actually coming out with the bald words "you're too big for me" - for which he'd be shouted at for fat shaming! I don't dislike Kwame as much as some of you.

A580Hojas · 14/09/2022 09:31

I'm rather cross about last night's episode Grin. It largely revolved around this conversation between April and Thomas about Chanita - which we never saw! So either something is being hidden from us, or there is a rule about not filming in toilets or something and the two of them took advantage of it.

I'm not going to say team Thomas or team April until we know more about what ACTUALLY happened - and maybe we never will.

But it's a bit ironic because a few episodes ago Thomas was declaring loud and proud about how April was a lovely girl and they were best friends. Then they had a long chat at the first dinner party and he was saying "girl it doesn't matter if you kissed someone like this" and he kissed her, remember? and then a few minutes later he was saying "if Adrian kissed someone else on our honeymoon I would be upset" or something like that, and April got upset. It's like her turned on her mid conversation.

So - I dunno.

oxydant · 14/09/2022 09:54

Urgh Kasia. Yuck yuck

I'm not sure that it's as specific as they can't film in the toilets, but rather they can only film during pre-agreed times and places or something. It would be a bit too invasive if the cameras were following them all 24/7. We don't see most of what happens in the evenings ie we never saw the hot tub thing so not seeing them all having drinks at April & George's flat sort of makes sense.

MelodyPondsMum · 14/09/2022 10:21

KwaMeMe didn't need to fat shame anyone Hmm. All he had to say was you're not my type, I don't find you attractive. Jess is literally saying that every single episode to PJay. They're still choosing to stay. But KwaMeMe didn't want to risk saying that too early in case it meant he went home straight away.
Although the preview makes it look as though he's finally decided to stop spinning it out.

Maves · 14/09/2022 10:21

Saw another side to chanita...I'm thinking have they edited her to be mrs nice?...so they have that one nicely couple obviously April called her a bitch for a reason and Jordan's comment last night wasn't great....
Jess seriously dress for your shape! She looks awful especially at karaoke stomach hanging over her jeans in a crop top and saggy boobs 🙈 it's not classy.
Kaisia I honestly don't get what she's doing can't forget arsecrack gate is her son watching this 🙈 I think there are certain ways you need to behave on tv if you have kids as it's not fair, I don't get the speech either? She's basically threw her fanny in his face and he ain't intrested! She needs to show some dignity now that's her problem if he wasn't that arsed before all the desperate shit would have certainly put him off.

Pjay deserves better...think Richie and Lara are both as bad as each other. George wet lettauce
Don't get all the hate for Thomas he's honest.
Not sure where Whitney's 360 appeared from probably shagged him.

LosingTheWill2022 · 14/09/2022 10:55

Don't get all the hate for Thomas he's honest
Assuming Thomas is being truthful I don't understand his behaviour towards Chanita at the dinner party. According to him, April told him that Chanita had been a bitch but he then found out that April had told Chanita it was him who'd slagged her off. But Thomas was rude and dismissive towards Chanita when she raised the issue rather than clarifying his version of what happened.

A580Hojas · 14/09/2022 11:30

Too much air time being given to something we didn't even see.

I wish Kasia would stop embarrassing herself. And why does she need Kwame to say "I don't find you attractive" is she not terribly bright?

Fuzzy303 · 14/09/2022 11:42

I haven't yet caught up on last night's episode but so far I actually really like Zoe & totally get where she's coming from regarding the vegan issue. I really can't see Jenna staying with someone that enjoys eating meat & why should Zoe have to be the one to change

MrsWhites · 14/09/2022 12:16

I actually like Thomas, I think he’s incredibly defensive so he’s always on the front foot ready to stand up for himself, sometimes even before he needs to. He needs to learn to let his guard down because I think he actually likes Adrian.

To be fair to him last night, he tried to clear the air with Chanita in a one to one conversation but she called other people in and then George got involved trying to be the big protective husband!

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 14/09/2022 12:33

Funny how April was too 'ill' to attend... Bullshit alert!

She'll now spend the week crying about how mean Thomas is blah blah.

Thomas' style is to be bitchy to your face. April however is a shit stirrer, saw that in the first dinner party already.

Jenna is just nasty deep down, insecure little vegan who really has no personality except to talk about veganism. Zoe will get bored with that.

Pjay deserves better, Jess is holding out for someone that doesn't exist and will likely continue down the route of finding no one except twats after this. She'll regret it with him, as she liked him until she found out he is a stripper.

Cant see lara and Ritchie surviving much longer but don't think there will be a lara and George story line. They were flirting though.

Yes I agree and also Chanita threw a PA at Thomas rather than saying ‘April has said you did this, can I ask is it true’. That would piss me off too.

I am Team Thomas because aside from the fact that he seems to not mind telling people what he thinks of them, April has done either one of two things:

  1. Slagged Chanita off behind her back to TLW
  2. Gone running to Chanita to tell her what her best-friend-Thomas said about her behind her back.
Both make her a shit stirring two faced cow IMO
PollyDarton1 · 14/09/2022 12:50

Loved Whitney just being decent and letting her guard down.

Ritchie just doesn't get it at all. He has zero experience and of course Lara has experienced other situations because she has TWO KIDS. It's not shade on him, I reckon he's defensive because he was shit in bed and Lara just pointed out what she liked. The bending her over and jumping her like a dog thing was peak cringe.

April is a shit stirrer, you can see it from a mile off. Thomas handles things in really volatile ways but I genuinely think his heart is in the right place. Adrian's answer to Thomas warmed my heart - I really like him.

I think George had a point about trying to deescalate what was happening given April wasn't there to clarify things and would be better handled when they're all present but at the same time, the veins 😂

A580Hojas · 14/09/2022 13:02

I'm sure there was a little shot of Ritchie clocking the flirting between George and Lara.

DasAlteLeid · 14/09/2022 13:37

@A580Hojas yes I wasn’t sure if it was to show Richie feeling out in the cold while Lara chatted happily with someone else, or if we were supposed to read more in to it. I would LOVE George and Lara together, they’re both survivors of broken marriages and single parents and I think they would have a happy, easygoing relationship (which is doubtless why they’re not together on this show 😝)

I think I’ll have night terrors about Kasia’s Boss Bitch speech, complete with gaping arse latex catsuit 😖 Kwame is a knob and wanted to give his big speech, but intrinsically what he was saying makes some sense; some women see sex as almost a binding contract of commitment going forwards (I am more like this than in to casual sex), and he doesn’t want to shag if he’s not feeling that commitment. Kasia just didn’t understand or ignored the crux of it because she was mortified, hence Boss Bitch speech of doom.

Prinnny · 14/09/2022 13:49

I’m team Tommy, April is the standard mean girl who is jealous that Chanita’s relationship is going better and therefore getting more airtime and fans. Well should I say appears to be going better given the preview for tonight’s!

I really dislike Ritchie, hate men who judge women on their sexual past, like oh sorry hun should we just sit in chastity belts awaiting your future arrival?! All the pawing he does drives me mental I would just want to scream GET THE FUCK OFF ME

I thought Aidy was really sweet and he obviously sees something deeper in Tommy, i hope something progresses with them. George is a wet lettuce, Kasia and Jess need to sack the stylist ASAP and Pjay deserves the world! Oh also really liking the new laid back Whitney, the boy must have skills 🤣

EddieHowesBlackandWhiteArmy · 14/09/2022 13:51

I cringed myself inside out listening to Kasia’s speech, you haven’t had sex because he doesn’t fancy you. Simple as that. Doesn’t mean you’re ugly or whatever you just don’t get him going. Objectively someone like David Beckham is a good looking man but he just leaves me cold. Harry Styles? I’d ride him into battle but I know for others they just don’t see it. I don’t see why Kwame is so scared to say, you’re a good looking lass but just not the one for me.

I love Captain Curtains. Him and Thomas could be great together but I think they’ll end up as great mates rather than great husbands.

I’d also believe Thos over April. Her ‘illness’ was tres convenient.

He seemed to be peed off at Chanita when they arrived for the dinner party - so I reckon what had happened betweem him and April was that A told Thomas that C had been botching about him, hence why she called her a bitch etc.

I REALLY do not like how they're allowed to mix with each other outwith what we are seeing, it isn't helpful. They could all be discussing anything at all which would totally affect the next episode - inc Whitney possibly being told to rein it all back or she won't get any promo deals when she leaves - and potentially is what has changed her behaviour overnight. It totally meddles with the entire point/format.
