I had to sort out DD2- and didn't realise the thread was full.

I think Diego's kit might be green and yellow,

I thought it was a doubles name for Novak and Serena
I am crying laughing Grin

Tim Grin he knows how to deal with Jim

ChessieFL · 06/09/2022 18:52

Matteo seems to have woken up a bit now.

Rafa’s comments did sound a bit like he’s thinking about retiring - although it would be odd if he hadn’t thought about it given his age. I really don’t want him to retire but if he did he would be going out on a high which feels a bit better than Serena’s career just sort of trickling off.

Fizzywinegum · 06/09/2022 18:54

Looks like Matteo could be coming back now - his family are a nervy bunch!

Ruud is complaining about something - I think it’s the screen distracting him

Happy birthday Greg - sounds like they’ve not saved Annabel any cake!

JaneJeffer · 06/09/2022 18:57

Can Rafa just stay another year? Sad

Fizzywinegum · 06/09/2022 19:30

Rafa did say that he would be back next year (not sure if that’s just a made up Instagram thing) but his comments about being old and slow did make me wonder Sad

I can’t imagine Rafa being like Andy Murray, being prepared to carry on and potentially keep losing in the early rounds of tournaments

He has had a good year though - no one expected him to win the AO and he won the French with a zombie foot Grin

I will still be very sad when he does retire though Sad

I don’t think Matteo has looked very fit all tournament (well he is fit Wink) - apparently he was quite poorly when he had COVID so not sure if it’s that or lack of match practice

JaneJeffer · 06/09/2022 19:41

I think things were going better for Matteo when he was with Ajla!

Fizzywinegum · 06/09/2022 19:44

Yes! Things seem to improving for her though!

ChessieFL · 06/09/2022 19:47

Ajla seems to go under the radar but she’s done well at the slams this year.

Raahh · 06/09/2022 19:50

I have missed everything, because I have been back and forth sorting out Dh, who has been kept in hospital.

I expected this match to have been over sooner- but i'm glad Matteo made th last set more competitive.

JaneJeffer · 06/09/2022 19:52

Yes she does Chessie I think they forget about her

Raahh hope your DH is ok

Feel sorry for Matteo. Bloody Covid.

ChessieFL · 06/09/2022 19:55

Matteo did look out of sorts towards the end. He’ll be back!

Hope your DH is ok Raahh

Raahh · 06/09/2022 20:00

Poor Matteo- he was definitely doing better before Wimbledon.

Thank you all- dh is ok, his xrays showed several fractured ribs (that they didn't see on Thursday) and possible clots in his legs. They are keeping him in to check his breathing, whic hhe was struggling with, and why he went back to A and E today.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 06/09/2022 20:00

Yes I’m sure he’ll be back Chessie

Oh no - Hope your DH is OK Raahh

Well done Casper - very diplomatic reply about Kyrgios - I’m not sure if there is much respect for Nick in the locker room Pam

The world no 1 thing seems crazy - so many permutations!

Raahh · 06/09/2022 20:14

Lulu is back! Grin

Feel a bit sorry for Ajla- is this all she's good for now?- 'the one who beat Serena'. Hmm. I've lost count of how many times they have mentioned it.

OP posts:
IceandIndigo · 06/09/2022 20:44

Hope your DH is on the mend soon Raah, broken ribs sounds really painful.

I did wonder if Covid was affecting Matteo, I know some young people who’ve been quite badly affected fitness-wise, even months afterwards. I only caught the end of the match but it was a lot more one sided than I expected.

Raahh · 06/09/2022 20:56

Ice thank you- trouble is, there's not much you can do with ribs, apart from wait for them to heal. And that can take a while. He seemed quite chirpy when i saw him- but that might have been the drugs Grin

He has barely been able to move the last few days- and it's a bit worrying that it took 3 different people to realise there were actually several fractures- where they previously said there were none Hmm.

JaneJeffer · 06/09/2022 21:05

Come on Ajla!

IceandIndigo · 06/09/2022 21:11

Raah it doesn’t surprise me that they missed it. I once fractured my neck in an accident and they initially missed it on the x-ray, I got a very worried call from the hospital the next day telling me to come straight back so they could put me in a brace!

Raahh · 06/09/2022 21:19

To be honest, Ice it's not the first time it has happened to us either. They missed dd2's broken wrist-(and she needed surgery) and told ds his wasn't broken earlier this year(when it was).

DD1 fractured her foot years ago- and we were told it was fine. Got a call 6 weeks later to say they had reviewed the xray - and there was a fracture. Bit late by then, really!

Very glad dh went back to A and E this morning though- the place was heaving this evening.

Sound and vision are out of sync which is very annoying to watch!

JaneJeffer · 06/09/2022 21:46

I thought Rafa's dad was there for a second

JaneJeffer · 06/09/2022 22:00

Well done Ons
