Looking forward to it - it's in Cheltenham apparently, where I live, so am going to be nosy!

Olihan · 16/01/2008 20:34

I have had some VERY naughty dreams about Kevin McLeod . He's yummy.

GrinningSoul · 16/01/2008 20:38

yogabird · 16/01/2008 20:55

Olihan he IS lovely isn't he? I can't wait!

ViolentFemme · 16/01/2008 20:58

new series

I also love him - he's lush

I love the way he is really honest about what people have accomplished.

southeastastra · 16/01/2008 21:08

they seem arrogant. why don't they just buy land where they want away from the neighbours. they seem really selfish.

hope it goes belly up

MarkStretch · 16/01/2008 21:09

Good to have Grand Designs back.

Good to see the people they have on this week are as mental as ever.

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/01/2008 21:10

cannot BELIEVE they got permission

Cheltenham planners are notoriously fussy and keen to preserve the regency feel of the area.

Think it will be hideous

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:10

it will be interesting to see how the hell this is going to play out.

if i were their neighbours i would not be happy.

Lauriefairycake · 16/01/2008 21:12

I actually wish people would do more of this (build underground) as it warms the house with the earth.

Genuinely think that building underground is the way forward - there was massive objections from people near me when someone built one on a infill site and all you could see at the end was a grass lawn (the roof). Lots of people eating their words after that. They interviewed the residents in the local paper (50 people objected initially) - they couldnt find one person to own up afterwards.

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:13

But you know, building underground when water levels are rising may not be very feasible in many locations in the near future.

90 objections- 90! Their neighbours must hate them. Imagine living near them and having small children who need to sleep or working nights. They're building in quite a small built up space.

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:16

I see! Zoe's horns are coming out.

She's a Highland Cow in a person's form.

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/01/2008 21:17

oh no, everything is going tits up because they can't build a playroom.

The horror.

I am sure that the road they are on was a couple of feet under water in the floods. So perhaps not a good idea to have half your house underground

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:17

'A family room is absolutely crucial!'

It's called a living room, Zoe.

southeastastra · 16/01/2008 21:18

they're awful

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:18

no money for an architect but money for a consultant.

MarkStretch · 16/01/2008 21:19

And if they don't allow my family room, well than I simply shall not move in ya ya ya!

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/01/2008 21:19

rofl MOOD BOARDS

fuckinell!!

southeastastra · 16/01/2008 21:20

i bet she sound proofs the family room too, so she can't hear them.

'mood boards'

expatinscotland · 16/01/2008 21:21

he or she must know someone on the council or be related to them.

to get this ugly, modern monstrosity approved in the middle of a fecking conservation area of Grade II listed homes.

southeastastra · 16/01/2008 21:21

yes some greasing of poles down the rotary club or masons i reckon.
