ES is great!

I don't believe Jacques at all - he's massively competitive and just hates the thought of losing to Jay.

Luca is boring - I'd like him to go so that we can see what Gemma is like without him. Think she'd properly shine then!

ES is great TV. She thinks she's playing Davide when again he's another who hates to lose, and is totally playing her and wants to get his own back on her. I'd actually like ES to meet someone decent who treats her properly as she gives me the impression that she's only ever had shit boyfriends.

Tomorrow night looks interesting with Gemma and ES - hope it's good!

Where were Antigone and Danica? Didn't see them at all tonight (not even really in the background!). Totally agree with whoever said that Antigone should present After Sun - she'd be fab on it!

The Saturday show used to be the main highlight s of the week with some extra clips thrown in. So I generally didn't watch.
Now it's mainly all new stuff. Bit stupid st times but not staged as such.

You could say it's weird for them not to have a normal show on Saturday. It's like a day off for everyone.
But that's a whole other story that was discussed a long time ago.
If unseen clips had 5 eps a week it would probably make the show flow more as far as getting to know everyone in a natural way with some momentum. Rather than all this stop start fake set up scenes.

I believe Jacques, I think he is an immature bloke who hasn’t felt proper feelings before and doesn’t know how to deal with it all. Paige’s outfit was truly horrendous this evening. Curious to see what’s occurring with Gemma and Ekin-Su tomorrow. Tasha and Andrew need to be over already. Charlie is a strong no from me though. No thank you.

Argh why can’t Ekin-Su pronounce Davide’s name right?! Sometimes she randomly pronounces it correctly then it’s back to ‘Da-vee-day’! She seems convinced he’s secretly pining after her. Not sure that’s the case, although he does seem to be flip flopping between numerous people. Gemma, ES, Danica, Antigone … anyone I’ve missed?!

Not sure what to make of Jacques. The ‘it made me really angry’ and the ‘I can’t express emotions’ are surely red flags?! Paige seems quite vulnerable- I’m not sure she’s emotionally ready for the fallout of a show like this.

Jay is just cringey. Surely he can see Paige is hooked on Jacques?! Reading what his two exes (who apparently overlapped) said has coloured my view of him for sure.

Agree zero screen time for Danica and Antigone - Charlie hasn’t had that much either aside from the dates. It’s weird the way there’s always a couple of bombshells who get zero action / interest. Danica and Antigone are both pretty and Antigone at least seems to have a fun/ sunny personality so not sure why- I guess it’s hard to break in when there are established couples / confused loyalties already…

what they need is a bombshell like Megan who was a nightmare but all the boys loved her and she wasn’t afraid to stir up trouble. There was so much drama in that series. Or another Maura!

Well Davide and Ekin-Su were obviously told to go and have that conversation ... they're obviously trying to drum up some drama out of somewhere.

Dami and Indiyah's date wasn't much of a date was it? confused. A drink at a table! Agree with BiscoffSundae that far too much airtime was given to that very dull episode when we should have been seeing more of Danica and Antigone! I hate the way so many contestants are basically edited out of the show. In Casa Amor last year there were 3 girls who literally got 0 screen time.

Danica and Antigone don’t really have a connection with anyone though so it’s understandable there is no screen time for them. The ‘characters’ in the show are always going to be the ones in couples or with the ability to shake things up by splitting couples/turning heads. If they don’t do that then there’s not much point to showing what they’re doing in there. It ain’t friend island!

I don't feel as if any of them get a good edit. When you watch unseen bits on a Saturday, Gemma has a personality, Ekin Su is funny and they all seem to get along really well.

The whole programme is edited heavily to show conflict and drama. If you are just being normal and getting along with everyone the chances are you won't get much airtime

@A580Hojas @BiscoffSundae totally agree about the Dami and Inidyah date. I fast forwarded the whole thing. Everyone really ships them but I personally find them both boring. TBH I find everyone quite boring and lacking in personality this year, except possibly Ekin.

This is by far the crappiest love island I’ve watched. Where are the challenges and the fun bits? There are no jokes, no pranks, there’s barely any laughter amongst them all. And we are meant to be seeing “the best bits”, must be so boring the other 11 hours of the day.

I don’t know; I remember in the past previous islanders have said so much happened and wasn’t shown like one of the previous casa amor girls as mentioned said that her and Wes had a secret romance in casa amor but none of it was shown and she was basically edited out of the show so I get they can’t show everything but why do they have to show them literally recapping a date we just saw, or when they show the girls and guys talking about the night before in the morning on the terrace again something we already saw and don’t really need to hear them discussing their “feelings” on it

This is definitely the most dull series of the lot. However, they are also the nicest bunch of islanders we've had yet. I'm guessing there's a link!

I think those who believe Jacques and those who don't are both right.

He's caught up in the island atmosphere and behaving in ways that are unnatural. He's threatened by Jay and marking his territory. I also think he likes Paige, but emotions have been accelerated by being in the villa.

Even if this series was more interesting with a few more personalities.
They would still stick to exactly the same formula of asking for chats, morning terrace chats, asking about the boring dates and asking about how they are feeling.
When I'd say 90% of people now find that boring and stilted.
I was much more into the show first 3 series. I fast forward now which tells you enough.

The Saturday night show is so much better. Like Big brother.

I think ikenna got a shit deal it looked like he was actually funny etc on best bits, and Amber seemed a big charecter when the others spoke about her when she's gone! Yet we don't see any of that.

I think Paige is more suited to Jaques even though he's a twat. Jay needs someone older and more mature he woukd have been a good match with Amber.

Please god they don’t stick to the “will you be my girlfriend” pops the question bollox thing they do every year - I hate that as much as the dates. Have they not realised it’s the fly on the wall stuff that is interesting??!!!

Completely agree re. girlfriend cringe and dates - the dates with zero stakes i.e. both parties (at least pretend to) like and commit each other, are so tedious to watch. In a soap, you'd never have a couple get together and just chat about how well things are going with no subtext of anything else going on, that's the death of drama!

I don't believe any of the couples are actually bothered about each other.

Jacques is vile. A few days ago, when the boys asked what had happened in bed with him and P, he said "nothing" but then did the most sleazy smirk. Really gross.
And the way he sneered when Jay arrived in the villa and basically squared up to him. Ugh.

I don't understand what all the boys see in Tasha. They all seem to come in and say they fancy her. She's showing her true colours now, though.
