Just realised the tennis ball emoji is missing from the app. Merde. Off to complain!

Jane true. They will be disappointed if Sascha now wins in 4.

Fizzywinegum · 31/05/2022 18:13

Everyone is sorting their own tea out here tonight! DS2 is going to Wetherspoons - DH is working late (and might stay out later depending on how the match goes Grin)

I don’t want Rafa’s match to start even later than 7.45pm - which is even later in Paris - poor Rafa Sad

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:18

Fizzy the night sessions Paris are ridiculously late, compared to the time a night session starts in Australia or the US- both of which are 7pm, local time, I think. At least there, they have the benefit (usually). of decent weather- even in the early evening.

Who'd like to play a game? Richard Osman's House of Games Answer Smash - Tennis Edition!

I'll leave that to Raahh stats are not my forte Grin

Sorry - I had a 'bathroom break'

I'm rubbish at the answer smash round- I think the answer is Steffi Graff- but can't make it fit with the picture?

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:38

Could be over for Carlos, if he loses this game.

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:40

oh....

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:42

On the plus side, Rafa will start on time if Sascha takes this now.
And Carlos is only 19. He's got plenty of time.

Not everyone can win RG at their first go. Grin

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:44

(It's not Carlos's first RG, of course- but it's the first year anyone has really taken notice of him).

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:46

Not over yet then.

Poor Rafa won't know when to eat his dinner.

(Don't care about Djok, he can eat his figs whenever).

JaneJeffer · 31/05/2022 18:46

I'm so nervous for the next match I can't enjoy this one properly.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:51

I'm worried I won't last the next match. I don't want it to be a 5 set thriller.

Or it will be over in an hour and half, with the wrong result.

Neither are a fun prospect, right now.

If Carlos and Rafa both lose, I might just place a bet on Marin winning the whole thing. Grin

JaneJeffer · 31/05/2022 18:53

Don't forget your Scandinavian pals Raahh Grin

Raahh · 31/05/2022 18:56

Of course, Jane - it's all to play for in that half of the draw.

JaneJeffer · 31/05/2022 19:06

Well done Sascha

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2022 19:06

Well done to Sascha. Carlos will have his day.

Raahh · 31/05/2022 19:08

it will probably annoy Sascha a bit that to a lot of people , this will be considered an upset. It's not really.

Fizzywinegum · 31/05/2022 19:09

Well done Sascha - I think he’s happy with that win!

Oops naughty sascha - good job it’s not the beeb Grin

Mama1980 · 31/05/2022 19:09

I'm not a Sasha fan but I'll be rooting for him if he faces Djokovic anyway.
That was some great tennis though.

JaneJeffer · 31/05/2022 19:09

He wanted to prove his point and he did.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2022 19:10

He probably doesn't want to stick around for more questions about Carlos.

I really like Carlos, but perspective is needed.

JaneJeffer · 31/05/2022 19:11

Yes Raahh they don't think about all the pressure it puts on Carlos at all.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2022 19:12

It could have gone either way for Sascha - either feeling slightly resentful of the attention Carlos was getting could have made him play badly- or, as happened, he really used it to play well, and prove his point.

Fizzywinegum · 31/05/2022 19:17

Alex is on the deck chairs Grin

I wish I’d enjoyed that match more but I’m feeling quite tense - not sure that I’ll be able to enjoy the next one!

Mats and John seem to be back peddling on the Carlos adoration a bit now
