I'm so pleased for Rafa( although I did fall asleep). Honestly think the night sessions need a re think - it could have gone to 5 sets and that is really unfair on the players. Are they sticking with the same schedule for the semi finals? Can you imagine a late finish like that on Friday?

But bloody well done to Rafa. Not sure how much he will have left in the tank.

I am almost certainly expecting him to skip Wimbledon, sadly, but I wouldn't blame him. ( and then everyone will claim its about points/Russians- rather than the fact he will be knackered).

I have noticed that Rafa's match is already scheduled for Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed for the weather (and he gets an extra day to recover).

So pleased for him - I agree they shouldn’t start potentially 5 set matches at that time - I think tonight is the last night match so hopefully Friday’s match won’t be on too late

Got all caught up this morning- woke up and 6 and couldn’t get back to sleep because I wanted to know the result, so I probably would’ve got more sleep if I’d just stayed up in the first place!

I've just been reading that Djok has had the nerve to complain that the night match started too late- which I am not denying it did. But he was the one who requested the slot, ( rafa made it clear he didnt want to play then) Djok knows how last year panned out, and how late that semi was, and it was a obviously a deliberate ploy because he hoped the conditions would go against Rafa.

And now he's whinging.

Typical Djok! I thought that I’d recorded the rest of the match but the recording ended in the middle of the fourth set!

Apart from the odd 10 minutes of matches last week, I haven't had a chance to watch any tennis unfortunately. Funeral arrangements and all the other bloody paperwork that has to be done at this time seems to be taking up about 90% of my time, with housework and just generally trying to maintain some semblance of normality at Kazza Towers fitted in some where around it. Can't remember the last time I turned the tv on I will continue to score watch and keep up to date with your ramblings insightful comments

It felt as if it lasted for 2 months kazza (and I didn’t even watch it all!). Hope that you manage to get everything sorted out

I’m getting worried that Rafa’s going to retire after this tournament - apparently his doctor is doing something to help with his foot (he will explain all after the tournament!) but it’s not sustainable in the long term

I can’t imagine Rafa wanting to carry on without being able to play at his best. I know he can’t keep on playing forever but it’s making me feel sad

I feel weird today as if I have already watched the final but the tournament is still going!

Last night’s match definitely felt like a final!

I took DD2 out this mornng, and it took us ages to get back from town because all the trains were cancelled (not great, because it's the the airport train, and there is already enough chaos there). .

Kazza it would be an excellent quiz question- I'm sure it is one that will crop up during one of Robbie and Jim's endless witterings. I hope the arrangements are not too stressful- my mum is in Cardiff sorting out my late uncle's flat this week. It's hard when you don't live anywhere near. Everything takes so much longer- and no-one seems to take into account you don't live round the corner.

Jane I was thinking the sameMy dc (including my 19 year old ds) definitely know what a cassettes are, as I have boxes and boxes of them (and 'mix tapes' going back to the early 80s) that I can't get rid of- but I've nothing to play them on.

80s nostalgia is big with the 'youth' DD1 loves 'Stranger Things'.

That 2050 pic is hilarious, they made Rafa into a gnome think the Djok one might be quite accurate though, once he's grey he won't look like such a Lego head. The beard suits him.
