I am so excited about today's play. Emma is on at 10am, so I'm trying to get jobs done. Norrie later, not sure about Dan. I'll have to check. I'm in work but I've told them they can have me for 2 hours only.🤣

I’m working from home today Amdone so hoping to watch some tennis later - hope that Rafa’s match doesn’t go on too late tonight - I’m tired after staying up last night!

DH is also working from home - it’s like having too managers - he tells me off for clocking off too early (and watching tennis!) - he can bugger off!

I'm a bit miffed . Dh works from home, but goes in the office one day a week- which should be today. But he is staying at home. I was looking forward to my 'day off'

I saw quite a bit of tennis on Monday, but didn’t see any yesterday and won’t today because my work is being very unreasonable and making me go into the office. I mean, it’s almost like they don’t care that the tennis is on! I’m working from home again tomorrow and Friday and then on leave next week so will be able to watch plenty then (well, whatever Eurosport has to offer anyway - still debating the discovery plus subscription!)

About 20 years ago, some big football tournament (I'm guessing either the World Cup or the Euros?) was on at roughly the same time as Wimbledon. The bank I worked for set up a few meeting rooms with tvs and let staff watch the football during work hours!!

Was the same courtesy extended to us tennis fans? Was it bugger!!! Me and a colleague were forced to go to the nearest wine bar to watch the Rafter/Ivanesevic final on the Monday afternoon. We did have our work mobiles with us, so....

kazza Pre-dc, I always took time off work for Wimbledon. None of my colleagues could understand why I would waste leave, just to sit at home and watch tennis. well, they didn't pay me enough to go on holiday anyway .
But the office would practically come to a standstill when the Euros/World Cup was on, and all sorts of special 'time off' would be given to watch matches.

Jane I liked her dress too- lovely colour, and looked comfortable.
So far in the running for 'worst' outfit is Ostapenko. Her top had strange frilly bits and i don't like the pattern.

Found it - you need to go into the sport bit of the emojis (click on the smiley face then go to the football instead of the Mumsnet emojis and it’s there). Not sure if that only works on iPhone though?
