I don't know how he copes with contacts on clay. When I was a teenager and wore contact lenses (and refused to wear glasses/didn't have a pair) I would take my lenses out if I went anywhere very dusty, or a beach. I was blind as a bat even then- and spent 2 weeks in Crete one year where I took lots of pictures, of things I didn't see properly until the film was developed
