Just realised the tennis ball emoji is missing from the app. Merde. Off to complain!

Rafa and Djok have got the night session tomorrow. Hope that doesn’t put Rafa off!

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 13:04

At least it gives him a longer rest I suppose. No negative face Grin

I’ve just seen that as well - don’t think Rafa wanted the night match - eek! Could be a late one

Sascha v Alcaraz should be a good one - I think Sascha is getting a bit fed up of all the hype around Carlos!

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 13:44

Hubi got a set I see.

I think it was inevitable the Rafa/Djok match would be the night match, since it is viewed as the 'prime' spot- in terms of viewing and attendance. Obviously, it's not that great for Rafa in terms of weather- but the weather isn't always all that in Paris, even during the day- he got through the rotten weather in his semi against Roger in 2019. And did ok in 2020, despite the cold.
The big issue will be the if the match goes the way last year's match against Djok did. Although he's the master of grinding out matches, he needs a quick win against Djok, if he's going to win at all.

But yes- gives him more time to recover!

Raahh · 30/05/2022 13:50

And I've missed most of the action so far today, because I took DD2 for a hair cut. Got in to see that Hubi had a set. am now catching up with Doctors Grin

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 14:16

Rune has taken the first set.

Casper heading for victory.

Raahh · 30/05/2022 14:28

Well done Casper!

Raahh · 30/05/2022 15:16

Took my eye off the match, and after Stef going level, Rune has now got a break in the 3rd set and could go 5-2 if he wins this service game.

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 15:55

Seems a very topsy turvy match.

Watching now. Exciting stuff!

Got distracted by DS2 and missed the end.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 30/05/2022 16:16

Wow - well done Rune!

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 16:16

He's got such a huge serve.

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 16:17

I thought the crowd was cheering for Stef!

So Rune vs Ruud again.

A Chinese program for sports wouldn't be my idea of fun.

I had to go out, so missed the end of the Stef/Rune match- I'm not really surprised that Rune won, I thought this morning he could be a danger, and he was playing well. Stef seems to struggle against players he hasn't faced before (like Carlos in New York- and he's lost to him 3 times now).

He will be very unhappy with that loss. But well done to Rune.

I had really got Stef down as the favourite in the bottom half, with Daniil not really being all that comfortable on clay. So it's wide open now.

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 17:10

And surprisingly Iga is being challenged here too.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 17:11

But she's got the break now.

So many 19 year olds!

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 17:21

Iga's serve is not great today!

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/05/2022 17:26

Jane I was just thinking that! 19 is the age to be right now (and funnily enough, it is the age I have stayed, in my head Grin).
Iga was pushed a bit against Kovinic, it's not all going her way now either.

Might be a good thing to have some tougher matches at this stage.

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 17:33

I'm sure one of Iga's shots was out and the commentators did too.

My phone hates the name Iga

OP posts:
Raahh · 30/05/2022 17:36

I will be very sad if Iga loses. She came into this as such a strong favourite.

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2022 17:48

Stupid time warnings!
