www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0520lz9/broadcasts/upcoming

Seems to have been scheduled for bbc2 daytimes.

We're on series 4, right? Or are these repeats?

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/07/2022 18:47

Think repeats @JimMorrisonsleathertrousers

we are on s8

Yes I can never keep track of it either as it never seems to be on consecutive weeks anymore!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/09/2022 22:04

I guess the move it so much as it’s an hour so doesn’t matter when on

think this was the July one that was on planner then went poof

The mum's a bit of a weeper isn't she?

Blueberrycreampie · 29/09/2022 20:18

Nice family but I feel sorry for people having to eat all that processed vegan stuff- although I realise they don't have to!

paulmccartneysbagel · 30/09/2022 06:47

I'm going to watch this today on iPlayer.

DH and I are vegan and kids are omnivores - I wonder if there will be any useful tips for us? We try not to eat the fake meats too often.

KassandraOfSparta · 30/09/2022 08:00

They were basically advocating that you make one meal and then add to it for those who eat meat. So cook a stew or a paella or something, cook tofu separately to add for the vegans, some chicken or prawns for the rest.

Time and cooking separate meals for everyone was just as much of an issue for that family as money was.

Except the kung po cauliflower looked absolutely bogging.

They made 'facon' out of thin slices of carrot, sprinkled with paprika and roasted. They said it was pretty good.

paulmccartneysbagel · 30/09/2022 14:05

@BarbaraofSeville hmm 🤔 probably very nice but I would do facon with tofu so you still get a protein hit. Depends what you have with it I suppose.

I meant to watch it before school runs but forgot 🤦🏻‍♀️ so will watch it later!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2022 14:25

Most of the meals made me not want them 😂

but good to see 3 diff vegan veggie and meet eater eat the same but add stuff at the end

Yeah I reeeeeeeeeeally didn't fancy that at all. Shame as the rice sounded nice. I think maybe it's one of those dishes that doesn't work so well in a slow cooker, or that you need to thicken up a bit on the hob for 10 minutes before eating.

jay55 · 30/09/2022 18:58

Just catching up. Lovely family. Mum seems to carry a fair whack of mum guilt for not being home as much. Unwarranted, clearly has a great relationship with the kids.

I do think if you're vegan probably should get the beans and peanut butter you like.

Was shocked the man had the vegan cheese on his burger, I love a veggie burger but I'd have reached for the cheddar.

paulmccartneysbagel · 01/10/2022 14:23

I watched it, agree that the cauliflower dish looked pretty gross! But I'm not a fan of cauliflower anyway.

I did feel for the dad because I often feel the same when I'm cooking dinner. So hard to tick all the boxes and keep everyone happy and fed

Whatthetrolley · 01/10/2022 15:21

I can confirm the carrot bacon is worth a try, bit of a faff, but I sed the air Fryer!
