Did anybody watch this just now? I've never seen self sabotage on that scale in a show like this.

I thought the same about the Irish one - wasn't;t the variation - and TBH I think they' had decided right at the beginning who they wanted to win it. IMO there was at least one week when that contestant should have been out, and they kept that person in (carefully avoiding pronouns in case I accidentally give a spoiler)

Very spoilt brattery.

Stood there like a defiant child caught out doing something really unsavoury behind the bike sheds.

I got the impression that he hoped the judges would make a big thing of it and was disappointed that they just said "We wanted X and you didn't fulfil the brief" sort of thing.

He didn't have a clue what to do re"the reverse cat's eye (I would't have either, but I'm not a contestant) so decided to try to make it look like a protest.

Fooled no-one.

There were a couple of really strong contestants, though. I enjoy this programme - the ideas are often incredible, and the execution fantastic.

I thought the gym ad was a difficult brief TBH.

How do you make someone look "fresh-faced and natural" and yet at the same time "eye-catching and arresting"?

I enjoy this show. I was unimpressed by the brattery too. A real shame that they let themselves down like that and from their makeup looks I think theirs was the weakest. Loved the primary teacher and the person who created focus. Don't remember anyone's names yet!

Very unimpressed by the brattery and also it must have been really disappointing to the contestant who was in the showdown at the end too - although I thought at least the judges gave a good amount of time to critiquing their work even though there wasn’t anything to critique against! Made a mockery of the competition really and to those who applied and were passed over.

I think Season 3 might have been Glow Up's Apex. They have had just enough success to start putting narrative before Art.

I just watched the second episode and really enjoyed it. I think they sent the wrong person home though, her look was really basic and they didn’t finish.

Do you think contestants are given a list of things they might have to do before they start the competition, like the mermaid mouth from last night or that they are just meant to know what's meant by it? I got the feeling the graffiti artist of week one didn't know what he had to do for the challenge. There must be so many different things they can ask for - I can see why he panicked, though obviously he was a complete idiot in the way he dealt with it.

Until last week, I thought they were shown an example of what they had to do for the face off. But last week showed that obviously they don't!

He obviously didn't have a clue, but I mean come on. I'm no make up artist but I would be able to at least attempt a reverse cat eye. Mermaid lips on the other hand - not a bloody clue!

I agree the wrong person went this week, and I'm also a big fan of Lisa the teacher ☺️ I really do enjoy Val and Dom too, and the guest judges are always really interesting

I am still astounded at the hissy statement that person had at the end.

They said they wanted to teach their daughter about how to be a progressive human being. Here’s hoping the daughter will never see them acting like an entitled twat then.

All it said to me was that they couldn’t cut the mustard and flounced instead of trying to go out with their best effort.

This is someone who has convinced themselves that they are special.

They are not.

I wasn’t really blown away this week. I am no judge though. I can’t even draw a flicky eye.

I have no idea what most of the things that are asked to do are. But I don't want to be an MUA. Surely if you do then you should know the latest trends and how to do them.

I'm liking the teacher this year but not sure anyone can beat Sophie's success last year.

I thought Charlie was pathetic. He (and he was listed as an acceptable pronoun in case anyone objects) clearly didn't want to be the first to be sent home so he made up the thing about taking a stance. It was shitty, disrespectful and childish to scrawl on that model's face.

It's a bit ridiculous to make out he was making some kind of stand for 'queer' people. Did he not take a look around himself? He's hardly alone in this series or previous series or the entire industry is he?

@Doyoumind that was my thought. Glow up has been super diverse. No fuss is made of anyones presentation. Top Gear, if he'd done a protest on top gear or match of the day there would have been something to rally against.

I do think some of them are just trying to out odd each other. And spending more time on themselves than preparing for challenges.
