So finally, with 2 episodes to go I have caught up with real time and can post on your thread! I've been watching a few episodes behind and trying to stop reading when you all start on the next episode.

I loved today's, I loved seeing all the small things Rebecca did for her kids over the years. I'm glad all that sunk in and made them want to do the same for her. They didn't take all her efforts for granted.

and Disney has always had it from Thur am. Just like prime

Beth and Randall got together at the start of college so 17/18.

Kinraddie · 12/05/2022 23:04

Absolutely fuming that it hasn't appeared on Prime tonight! There must be thousands (millions?) of us waiting for these last few sacred episodes. They need to sort it out!

dimples76 · 12/05/2022 23:07

I did think that it was rather too easy in the end - if only real life problems were so easily solved.

I did like the conversation between Kate and Toby though.

I would not agree to making waffles at 5am and I would be livid to be woken by another adult to clean up a poonami (never had that as I am a lone parent so get to clean up all the shit)

Lastic7 · 12/05/2022 23:08

Kate has ended the series with no redeemable qualities at all, has she?

I really hope Toby is living his best life now!

Wallawallakoala · 12/05/2022 23:17

Argh why's it not on prime!?

sunshineandshowers40 · 12/05/2022 23:24

This was actually one of the only episodes that I liked/ warmed to Kate.

EasterIssland · 12/05/2022 23:37

Liked the episode (been liking them for a few weeks now)

glad that Kate has made her voice heard even if it wasn’t the final decision.

and glad they manage to find an arrangement that would mainly fit Rebecca.

don’t want the series to finish.

LifeInsideMyhead · 13/05/2022 04:30

I liked Kate and was glad of the conversation with Toby where she reflects on being in the boys shadow. She has really come into her own and overcome so much of her problems and insecurity. Early on she couldnt relate to her mother and it has been great to see her be the one at the end. In fact they all had mother-issues/felt insecure didnt they. Seems so long ago!

I known they're tying up the ends too neat for real life but I kind of want that after the journey we've been on. I want to know Toby was okay and that Kate and Toby are happy coparenting and can joke (just like normal divorces right..... er!)

I found seeing the flashes to all the times she cared for her kids emotional. My husband worked away so I was often feeling similar and the cycle of a life lived is always emotional. The changes of who cares for who.

I am so in awe of the writers of this series. The way so many strands have been woven both in each episode with the themes contained in one session and over the whole story the way we found out things gradually and travelled with them and it wasnt all spoilered early on but so much detail to get to the destination. They made kate and toby so real and us root for them while they knew it wouldnt last for example.

Its funny how different stories have comeninto the fore at different times . I loged that feeling of early on of thinking "oh gosh we just saw x happen in the flash forward what will happen to y character" and being desperate to know yet the following few episodes dont address it at all and you get caught up in someone else's story until it is woven back!

SynchOrSwim · 13/05/2022 06:29

Still not on Prime! I gave up and downloaded a naughty copy.

Lasts nights episode was a bit boring I thought. Nice to see it showing Rebecca as a good mum rather than it being The Jack Show whenever the kids are young.

I think next week is going to hurt!

OrangeBall · 13/05/2022 06:38

Looks like NBC might have screwed us over as they haven't given Prime the episodes as yet.

I

SynchOrSwim · 13/05/2022 06:47

Are we all assuming next week is the deathbed scene?

What do you all think will happen in the final episode?

What flashes past this have we had apart from the Jack stuff?

EasterIssland · 13/05/2022 08:07

Next one is called the train. Part of me thinks a train is going to hit Kate’s car … it would be a bit too much wouldn’t it ?

hidinginthekitchenwithwine · 13/05/2022 08:08

I think it's been a bit rushed. Absolutely no connection between Kate and Philip and when she chatted to Toby on the phone, it felt like the old days, really warm connection between those two. Kevin and Sophie, would have liked more to that too. And Miguel's episode was beautiful but too little, too late. Overall it's great writing and beautifully done in terms of getting timelines right, but the last minute relationships are a bit rushed (by their very nature too, I guess)

mamaes · 12/05/2022 21:07

I still find it bizarre that Randall's girls have disappeared off the face of the earth.

They are probably busy with work/Uni/life & don't want to keep running off to see Granny Pearson.

I like the idea that they might be slightly less enmeshed!

OrangeBall · 13/05/2022 08:29

It really doesn't look like we are getting them on Prime and I refuse to fork out £7.99 for Disney plus when I don't need it for anything else!

they really are utter shits NBC to do this right at the end of the last series!

it's so annoying as there are now spoilers everywhere

Doubleraspberry · 13/05/2022 08:42

If the conversation is broadly in the same period as Rebecca dies, we already know that Tess is a social worker and Deja a doctor, so it makes total sense for them not to be there at the cabin. The other kids are a lot younger. I can't remember the name of the other sister and whether we know how her life turns out.

Lastic7 · 13/05/2022 08:44

Philip is certainly the least believable character. Poor casting.

Annie, I'd like to know what happens with her since we know what her sisters are doing.

Do you think we'll see a president Randall in the last episode? It looked to me like that's where it's heading.

What did you all think of Kate's success that was briefly mentioned? Got an MA in Education and is creating an Arts curriculum for the while state?? Of California?! Seems like quite a jump!

Moaningturtle1 · 13/05/2022 09:07

Kate isn’t in the death bed flash forward is she? But Toby is.

Is Kate dead? Or does she not make it from LA in time? Was Philip there?

So are we saying it’s 10yrs on roughly if deja is a doctor so finishing school then years of training

I assume deathbed scene will be the end episode

how sill the big 3 cope

It's on Prime now!

Juniper68 · 13/05/2022 10:30

I actually cried. My wonderful aunt died of parkinson's so this hit home. She still smiled at the end but couldn't talk.
Plus it made me feel normal as exdh and I get on like brother and sister. Kevin and Kate getting on with exes is good to see. People think it's strange the way me and exdh get on well.

I haven't liked Kate. Find her babyish. I'd never be friends with someone like her. She was ok this episode. Randall is unbearable. I prefer younger ones. Kevin is delicious though 😋

Lastic7 · 13/05/2022 11:03

Can anyone explain the "Mawwage" accent Kevin was doing at Kate's wedding?
