Last thread only had few messages to go so made a new one all ready for the last ever 3 Episodes 🥲🥲🥲

I wasn't sure about watching it because it's not long since I lost my mum but actually I didn't think it was too sad. The interactions with the family, Marcus' story, etc, helped to lift it. I'm one of the few (it seems from this thread!) who liked Deja and Malik so I was glad they were still together.

I'm disappointed that William had a bigger role on the train than Miguel. It would have made more sense if their roles were switched out. William was more important to the series but Miguel was more important to Rebecca.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/05/2022 18:21

I found sad that she got in bed with jack. That he was her true love rather then miguel

but guess if she loved both be like choosing which child of could only choose one if have 2

I have a dead dh and an alive one. I love them both

I’ve always used the child scenario for when I met dh no 2 after no 1 died

you love your first born. Then no 2 comes along. You don’t love no 1 less or no 2 more. You love them both the same

some people find this hard to understand

from what we saw Miguel was kind understanding and not an alcoholic

I’ve always said if jack was alive they would have divorced

I also thought that Miguel should have been the last, he must have had many more years with Rebecca than Jack did. I know they had a love story and that was ripped away but I think they'd have ended up split up if he hadn't died.
I'm also a bit mystified that Kyle was never really mentioned.

I've been lucky not to have had a stillborn child, but even in the rush of bringing up 3 babies, I think i would still have mentioned him/referenced him on birthdays etc.
Unless I've missed something, he was just never mentioned again was he?

Juniper68 · 19/05/2022 18:44

You're right about Kyle not being mentioned. Such a shame. And yes it would have been nice if he'd been on the train.

TheGlitterati · 19/05/2022 19:01

Maybe Kyle is in the last episode.

FinnRussell · 19/05/2022 19:17

Going against the grain here but I'm glad it was Jack in the end. I loved the episode with Miguel, but I think the interaction on the train between them was bizarre (she seemed like she was surprised he was there and saying nice things). It was fairly obvious Jack was the love of her life. Occurred to me she kept the Pearson name after she married Miguel too. I don't think Jack and Rebecca would have ended up divorced, he wasn't perfect but he gets a bad rep on here! I grew up at the same time as the Big 3 and Jack was way ahead of his time in the father and husband stakes!

RogersOrganismicProcess · 19/05/2022 19:37

Just watched the train [sobs into tissue]. I think both Miguel and Jack should have been in bed, that would have been jolly. i’m also gutted Kyle wasn’t there. I love my living children to bits, but the idea of maybe seeing DD2 again (who died as a newborn) is the only thing that makes me ok with the prospect of death. I’d love to see her again 😍

Pinkcadillac · 19/05/2022 19:39

SPOILER ALERT

I've found it a bit underwhelming compared to the Miguel episode.

Also how believable is Kate going on a business trip when Rebecca is dying?

I also think they have played a cheap trick on us with the way they've shown Kate's absence in the flash-forwards and promos and I'm not impressed by that.

I agree that they could have used Miguel instead of William for the train 'role'

DaisyQuakeJohnson · 19/05/2022 19:46

@RogersOrganismicProcess 💐sorry for your loss.
It is odd that they didn't mention Kyle. My DM lost my DSIS at birth and although in the immediate aftermath, DM didn't talk about it at all, as the years went by, we would talk about her.

BinBandit · 19/05/2022 19:47

For me it's not about Kyle being on the train or not, it's the fact that there was never a mention of him, no grave, no sad moments when the others had milestones and birthdays etc. He was totally left out and I know it's fiction, but that just doesn't seem believable to me. I can't imagine that the character they portray as Rebecca would never have had a flash of sadness from time to time thinking of the child who wasn't there. That doesn't mean that she didn't love Randall as the "replacement" any less but it would have been natural no?

SynchOrSwim · 19/05/2022 19:48

Shmithecat2 · 19/05/2022 13:53

Pretty fair assumption! I don't look at the thread until I've watched it either.

Yep me neither, why come on a thread about a TV show if you don't want to know what happened in the latest episode?! I avoid this thread until I've watched it.

BinBandit · 19/05/2022 19:50

I mean a mention between J & R maybe on the birthday after the kids were in bed, or wondering how he would have looked or what his personality would have been. Anyway I'll shut up about it now.

TheGlitterati · 19/05/2022 19:53

You’re not wrong. Kyle would have been mentioned. In all honesty the entire handling of his loss and even what the doctor said to Jack after, bringing Randall home as a literal replacement baby, it just all felt odd to me anyway.

BinBandit · 19/05/2022 19:58

Yes, sort of "you've lost your baby, here take this random baby that nobody wanted instead..."

SynchOrSwim · 19/05/2022 20:00

Just googled the promo for next week, it really doesn't give away anything does it!

What do you all think the last episode will be about? It feels like the last couple of seasons have been building to Rebecca's death so I'm intrigued to see how they end it now?

Do you think there will be a lot of flash forwards to the grandkids lives? We know what Jack's a famous musician, Deja pregnant and training to be a Dr, Tess a social worker but not the others...?

XelaM · 19/05/2022 20:02

Kyle was mentioned in at least one of the episodes when Rebecca was really struggled bond with newborn Randall and it's because she wasn't over Kyle's death. But I think it was only one episode

Lurleene · 19/05/2022 20:04

I agree that there was not enough Miguel, I kind of expected them both to be waiting for her together like the great friends they were.

Dr K did mention that Rebecca had lost a child but not his name :(

I loved seeing Randall and Kevin with their younger selves. It must be nice for the actors to finally do a scene together. I guess Rebecca / Mandy Moore is the only person who has worked with everyone else. Perhaps Miguel too?

neveradullmoment99 · 19/05/2022 20:09

Im not sad about Miguel. Jack was the love of her life after all.
I thought it was beautifully done. I was dreading it but it wasnt too sad thankfully.

Yes, it wasn't right. Just weird. Then to never consider the actual baby she lost was a real oversight.

SynchOrSwim · 19/05/2022 20:12

Can I just mention when Toby asked for confirmation Rebecca liked him better than Phillip, made me chuckle.

I'm glad the death scene is over. Will be happy for next week to see the outcome of everyone's lives. A much happier ending and maybe paving the way for a spin off!

I would love to see the 4 grown up with grandkids

Kevin is cute sexy old and grey

am wondering how this will end and could there be a spin off for the 3 triplets

agree wouid have been nice to have some mention of Kyle over the years

rebecca never was allowed to grieve for her dead son. Instead replaced and madness of life with 3 small babies

Kevinpearsonfan · 19/05/2022 20:45

Mandy Moore said the last episode will feel like a big hug.

I totally agree re Kyle. I was hoping he would be on the train. It doesn’t make sense that he wasn’t. There have been times over the years when I have been sure Rebecca or Jack were about to mention him but no. Unbelievable. Agree that Miguel should have had a lot more significance as well.

I like the idea that dying is like being on a train to heaven and that everyone we love will be there and we will hear our loved ones voices as they are speaking to us. I found it all very emotional. Even “Thank you for all the meals” made me cry.

Ha, yes to this it made me laugh too. I wonder if it was also a nod to the fans who didn’t really like Philip 😆
