Re the new format, it feels like they've tried to go along a MC Australia style audition process but tweaked to the point it doesn't work.

Tasting room is totally pointless. If there's supposed to be some benefit in John and Gregg not being there while they cook, surely (a) they shouldn't be told who cooked what, and (b) they should do the same for the second round.
