@Wheresmywoolyjumpers

And now sewing bee is back too!
Love that!

I'd have liked to have seen what Fran and Dean would have done with the lodges.

I think we know what Dean would have done

LemonViolet · 20/04/2022 22:41

Might have to get a cheeseboard in for the final to support Banjo 😁

I don’t like whiskey tho, but rum & ginger ale might look like whiskey

Can't wait! I knew it must be due soon.

Let me think..... 🤔 😂

The black would have been a interesting contrast to the view of the lake though.

Aw I really felt for Paul when he talked about his big lumps of wood nailed to the shiny kitchen units and said “Friction!” To AA like a puppy eager to show what he had just learned, then she just shot him down. (I didn’t like them either, but he must have felt like such a fool).

I was really sceptical about Banjo’s green wall against the yellow cabinets but it worked in the end- that’s the mark of a good designer, taking you somewhere you’d be too afraid to go.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 08:00

I get what Paul was trying to do with his lumps of wood but they just didn't fit the space he was attaching them to. He could have used them as a bar similar to Amy's and they would have been great.

HaveringWavering · 21/04/2022 08:10

I agree with that @SoupDragon , my point was about the way he tried to use it as an example of “friction” to AA and she was a bit mean in response.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 08:13

I think she was honest rather than mean.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 08:15

I also think there is more in-depth, supportive advice that isn't shown because it doesn't make great TV for this style of programme.

lollipoprainbow · 21/04/2022 09:29

The final would have been great with Paul and Banjo, not keen on Amy or her design this week, the horrible wallpaper, floral lampshade and the hanging herbs! But I agree about Paul's wall and tiling it was awful. Banjo for the win please.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 09:40

I think Amy has been lucky that others have been worse than her rather than her designs being great. I don't understand why she was the one who went through first really.

icelollycraving · 21/04/2022 11:02

She went through because she swapped the sofas and the dining space. I didn’t like any of the designs this week. I think this was a real weak effort from Banjo.
I don’t like any of Amy’s wallpapers. Actually the school one was good. The florals remind me of Laura Ashley 20 years ago.
All I could think was that none of the spaces would work as a rental, too many knicks knacks, not practical to clean or do an inventory each week.
The ‘friction’ from Paul made me cringe. He had done good ideas but the sofas were horrific. I think in vm he is used to just working with what he’s given.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 21/04/2022 11:20

Can’t believe someone who put a dead magpie in a holiday hut is in the final.

The bar is on the floor…

Cattenberg · 21/04/2022 12:50

Wasn’t Cassie, the winner of the first series, a fan of taxidermy? Perhaps Michelle likes it too.

The rope handles look like a strangulation hazard for a small child.

They seem to have removed them and put the metal handles back. More of a hygiene issue than strangulation I would have thought.

I think Paul's has photographed very well looking at the on site photos. Looks very warm and comfortable although it seems to have been stuffed with plants which makes it look a bit claustrophobic and I don't think that was Paul's doing.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 14:30

Thank goodness for that! I said earlier they were going to be minging as they were uncleanable.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 14:32

They don't seem to have changes his sofas (which actually look like IKEA Ektorp ones to me!)

HaveringWavering · 21/04/2022 14:47

The photos of Banjo’s don’t feature the canoe! How strange. And there is this huge striped barrel thing in the foreground that I don’t remember seeing, yet it’s clearly been painted to match the blanket and the walls/kitchen.

I meant to say, I thought they were a bit odd to say that Banjo had not tied together outside and inside when he had put that yellow hammock out on the deck.

Amy’s doesn’t seem to be on the website?

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 15:03

Amy's is there - it's Kingfisher. The main photo doesn't look like a lodge so it's difficult to spot. They've kept the awful chandelier and hanging herbs!

Banjo's canoe is also still there but you can only see it as a reflection in the glass bannister.

Cocolapew · 21/04/2022 15:16

How can they afford to change the sofas etc when they only have £2,500? Surely that must be most of the budget.

DoubleGauze · 21/04/2022 15:57

@Cocolapew I wondered the same. Maybe they hire them.

SoupDragon · 21/04/2022 16:28

Good point about the furniture - didn't Amy ditch everything?

I wonder why they don't seem to have redecorated the bedrooms - eg those in Amy's still have wooden frames. I'm surprised they didn't redecorate them afterwards to match the design of downstairs.

Ooh a colour stripe would have been good yes. Even going up and around the ceiling.

If he had taken the stripes from the expensive blanket and used them on that white wall it would have looked fabulous. Like being inside at shirt from the 70s.
