@Choccy21

The couple paid £2 million for the house?! Why’s Bram doing a junior type job if they are well off?
Because on the telly, everyone lives in spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated homes that they could in no way afford in real life.
kindlyensure · 08/03/2022 21:52

Yeah, bit convenient meeting in that lift...he's a wrong 'un for sure.

Gastonia · 08/03/2022 21:58

Maybe my theory was wrong! Grin

kindlyensure · 08/03/2022 21:58

Ah!

Candlecassie · 08/03/2022 21:59

I’m actually quite enjoying this. Hope it keeps going and doesn’t end up being a disappointment.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2022 21:59

@Blondeshavemorefun

Stalker alert

Sure her and lift guy are working together to screw then both over

Yah. I was right

Well Bram is a proper dickhead isn't he Grin

gluenotsoup · 08/03/2022 22:02

Ooh, it’s good!
Going off at a huge tangent, but the tree with the pink flowers on in their front garden - does anyone know what it is? I thought it was a cherry blossom or magnolia but maybe it’s something else? Chinese dogwood? I want one.
Rupert PJ is a very nice distraction though 😊

Knittingnanny2 · 08/03/2022 22:10

Well that ending tonight was different from the book! I had no idea till last chapter that it was lift man- in the book he has another name!

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 08/03/2022 22:11

@dannydyerismydad

The actress playing Fi was also Miss Haversham in Dickensian.

She doesn't have much luck with men, does she?

She does in the Downton Abbey films.
pickingdaisies · 08/03/2022 22:12

I think the tree is a magnolia. It was the best thing about that episode, I got more and more annoyed as it went on.

What ending, episode 2 or have you binged the lot? Which bit is different from the book? (having read the book myself)
Knittingnanny2 · 08/03/2022 22:14

Episode 2 just now when lift man said we want your house, no spoiler! I think he was called Alex or something so I didn’t connect him with the blackmail til nearly the end of the book

CashewNut11 · 08/03/2022 22:15

Such a huge house, yet the boys share a bedroom.... Hmm

Looking at house from front. I’m wondering if they onlt
Own left side of it

Back garden isn’t very wide

Not the width of front

So I think the right hand window of door belongs to other side house

OP posts:
Knittingnanny2 · 08/03/2022 22:20

Well I suppose it’s not really changed, just that in the book you obviously can’t see that it’s the same man!

tracyon · 08/03/2022 22:21

Noticed Bram’s mum played by Maureen Beattie who was great as David Tennant’s mum in Deadwater Fell.

Knittingnanny2 · 08/03/2022 22:22

How did he dispose of the car and how can he claim on the insurance? I must have missed that bit and can’t remember that bit in the book

Now that was a great programme. I knew I had seen her before.
RightOnTheEdge · 08/03/2022 22:36

In the book Fi and her friends are obsessed with checking their house values and talking about how they bought their houses cheap and how much they are worth now.
It's their favourite topic of conversation apart from the kids.

IcedPurple · 08/03/2022 22:38

Tuppence seemed so calm when Steve told her that her car had been stolen. As if it were a perfectly normal everyday occurrence for cars to be nicked in broad daylight in a middle class suburb.

The acting all round is pretty terrible. You'd almost think it was deliberate, but I doubt it.

Papergirl1968 · 08/03/2022 22:38

I thought the woman who is blackmailing him was the Moaning Myrtle actress from Harry Potter due to the weird voice. Grin

Missushbb · 08/03/2022 22:42

car man was Tobey in the book, he will maybe have another name that he tells Bram? the acting is strange, the woman blackmailing is just awful, so hard to watch.

Missushbb · 08/03/2022 22:44

@Rollergirl11

Vocal fry, much?
God, i do hate this!! my sister in law does it too, so annoying!
