I’ve just seen this on Netflix, apparently the first 5 episodes are up and the next lot drop next week. Anyone watching? I loved the first season

Shane and Natalie are the only couple I'm rooting for. Love them and their families. They're so good for each other.

I came here to say this!

I agree with PP that I couldn't stand him at the start but he seems ok now! Natalie is truly beautiful

Mid binge tea break post…

Natalie and Shane for President!!! Love them - they are lovely people.

Nick and Danielle - NOOOO. Implosion imminent.

MAL & Sal - feck, I’m going off Sal slightly but I don’t want to!

Deep and Shake - oh shit

J & I - so sweet, I hope it’s authentic for the pair of them

KimDeals · 18/02/2022 23:08

@bonfireheart

Run Nick run 🏃‍♂️
It’s a pure mess isn’t it??!!
bonfireheart · 18/02/2022 23:10

I have to forward Sal & Mal, it's the same conversations on an endless loop with his creepy singing thrown in.

Yes! And he never seems to be affectionate…
dimples76 · 18/02/2022 23:28

I think Shayne and Natalie are the only ones who should consider marrying. I do however, think that it's a bit worrying that he is doing this a few months after his Dad's death.

I just can't see why either Nick or Danielle would stay in the relationship. They don't seem to make each other happy at all.

TitsInAbsentia · 18/02/2022 23:34

@bonfireheart

Really pedantic but what's with the gold glasses? They had them in the pods...in all their apartments...and then when they went dress/suit shopping...where else are these gold cups going to pop up?
I can't even remember them but if they're the ones you can't see through I suspect they're being used to help with continuity issues (ie glass half full, glass empty etc).
RoyKentsChestHair · 18/02/2022 23:39

I’m just watching it and had that epiphany - I used to think it was to avoid showing alcohol as I know Americans can be a bit censorious about stuff like that, but then realised that drinking is a continuity nightmare!

bonfireheart · 18/02/2022 23:41

Oh that makes sense :)

TitsInAbsentia · 18/02/2022 23:41

So now I've got to wait until next Friday! Bloody outraged, just drop the whole lot for heavens sakes.

bonfireheart · 18/02/2022 23:42

Yes! And he never seems to be affectionate…

It's the same thing with Shake, after they had the massages and he was giving that heartfelt speech I thought he would kiss her but he didn't...wonder how Deepti and Shake's aunt feel after hearing what he said on the show!!

cuno · 19/02/2022 00:55

I've just started watching episode 6 so avoiding reading other comments right now, but I just felt the need to mention how bloody mad is it Iyanna thinks you should get rid of any gifts from exes! Anything I still have from exes years ago don't hold sentimental value, they're just stuff I get use out of same as other gifts, like clothes and household items, even a box set of my favourite show. And even if they do hold sentimental value... and? So what? Doesn't mean you're going to jump in bed with your ex, but you're still allowed to have happy memories. Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this! My partner has a tattoo that was a gift from his ex (not her name or anything like that though) which is perhaps more sentimental than anything... I wonder what Iyanna would think of that. 😵

bonfireheart · 19/02/2022 01:01

I agree @cuno, it feels like such a waste to throw stuff away esp if you can use it like the watch box he had. A nice item is a nice item regardless of who gave it to you.

cuno · 19/02/2022 05:14

I just caught up and read all the comments. Seems I'm not the only one who found the throwing out gifts thing odd!

I've really surprised myself because I absolutely couldn't stand Shane from the start and thought he was some fuckboy, but I've really warmed to him and think he is a big goofball with a big heart and I'm rooting for him and Natalie! He had me laughing so much as well when he was talking about wearing a tux cape for the wedding Grin

I don't think anyone else is a good match at all though. Danielle has so many issues that she needs to work on before she dates anyone, let alone get married. Besides, her and Nick are opposites and not in an opposites attract kind of way, more like chalk and cheese. Every time they're on screen she's hysterical about something and they're falling out, but I also feel like there's something really "off" about Nick, I don't think he's this nice guy he portrays himself as. I can't pinpoint it exactly but he gives me the ick. Maybe someone else can see it?

Iyonna should never have said yes to Jarette's proposal. She's second choice and she knows it, I guess no wonder she's a bit paranoid about stuff. Iyonna strikes me as very young for her age, I didn't realise she was 27... she feels more like 19/20 to me by the way she acts and talks.

Sal and Mal... I think they're a bit meh as a couple. I did like Mallory but thought she was a bit sly when Jarette approached her a few episodes ago, but she seems to have moved on from that. I don't think stuff is adding up about this girlfriend-but-not-actually-a-girlfriend of Sal's, there is definitely a lot more to this story. Sounds like Sal has been stringing along a woman for the past year and then ditched her for the show. I'm not buying that it wasn't serious.

Deep and Shake... not sure what to say about them really. Loved what Shake's mum had to say to him though. I don't understand marrying someone that you don't feel physically attracted to, sounds like a recipe for disaster. Deep deserves better.

And I'm just glad Shaina ended things with Nick, I couldn't bear watching any more of him ditching vegetarianism and trying to convert to Christianity or whatever for her, he was so desperate with no self respect and I felt embarrassed to watch. And I loved how Shaina's plan with Shane backfired!

jay55 · 19/02/2022 06:27

When Shania was ranting at Shane, he was upset then totally at peace, I think the relief of knowing he picked the right woman hit him.

Sal I'm less trustful of now.

Anyone catch what was said by Ilaynia about her adult adoption? The couple didn't look much older than her.

JazzPigeon · 19/02/2022 08:39

Very very cruel of Netflix to leave the last episode out!!!

I'm very aware they are dialling up and down the drama to make us have all the feelings but so far....

Nick should do the kind thing and not marry Danielle. The should date until she sorts her head out. It's actually distressing watching her spin out with anxiety. I hope they have good support from Netflix.

Shane and Natalie will be fine I think, despite the last minute drama. Rooting for them anyway. Plus he was actually giving good advice to Shake!

Mal and Val are not the worlds most exciting couple but they do seem like a good match. I agree that Sal minimised the exgf situation and there's more coming because of the DRAMATIC CLOSEUP of their faces at the end of that conversation.

I hope Shake and Deep get married. Both have been dodging the subject of sex and intimacy though. He's been telling anyone BUT her about his doubts. And she's being quite naive, just 'let's have babies'.

Jarrette and Iyanna are probably more together that the cameras are showing. She was the second choice though and will always be able to see on Netflix how upset he was when Mal said no. I'm not sure I could live with that.

NatashaBedwouldbenice · 19/02/2022 09:23

I tried watching episode 7 last night but turned it off because the conversation was sooo boring. No doubt I'll watch them all by Friday though Hmm

bonfireheart · 19/02/2022 09:31

I do think a lot of them are vulnerable. Shane's dad died just two months ago. Danielle has real issues. Iyanna I think comes across as young because of the extremely traumatic childhood she's had. Nick is "off" because he seems to have never recovered from his parents, his sister and mum are just the ODDEST who he said sometimes forget he exists. Shaina has lots of red flags. Mallory is always crying, her mum and sister not coming to help buy her dress speaks volumes. Sal and his "ex'. There's only a few that don't come with drama attached.

yellowsmileyface · 19/02/2022 11:21

but then realised that drinking is a continuity nightmare!

@RoyKentsChestHair Oh yeah, good point! I remember watching some other reality show once and the amount of wine in the glass kept changing throughout the scene, made it SO obvious how much it was edited.

Watched episode 6 last night. Updated thoughts:
Iyanna & Jarrette - whilst I get it, her jealousy/insecurity is starting to annoy me. Keeping gifts from an ex isn't a big deal. Also Jarrette's parents are lovely.

Sal & Mal - still crushing on Sal but as a couple I agree with others that they're being a bit dull.

Nick & Danielle - I hate to say it about a woman but Danielle's being a lot of work. If I were Nick I'd be feeling like I have to walk on eggshells, and that's really unhealthy.

Shake & Deepti - Can't believe Deeps thought wasabi was a palette cleanser! That's all I really have to say about them currently.

Shane & Natalie - strongest couple currently, though that's not saying a lot. Shaina's so manipulative whenever she talks to Shane, she was like it in the pods too. She needs to have some self respect and quit playing the Pick Me game.

Also, it annoys me on the show whenever they refer to the pods like "crazy, I was dating 14 guys at the same time!" The show is essentially intensive speed dating, and no one goes speed dating and refers to it as "I once dated 20 guys at the same time".

KimDeals · 19/02/2022 11:45

Yes! Shayne was giving really good advice to Shake.

I think Shake is avoiding committing by pinning it on physical attraction. I don’t know how Deepti is holding it together and staying so calm. She really does have a calm nature.

I don’t see ilyanna as young; I think she’s a bit of an old soul. Sensible. But the ex stuff is very silly.

Mal & Sal are saying nothing of substance, nothing real comes through… I have no conviction in them as genuine yet.

bonfireheart · 19/02/2022 11:51

Mal & Sal look so miserable all the time!!

ChikaCherryCola · 19/02/2022 18:19

I remember the drinking chalices from last season; Melissa always had one on the go!
