We were wondering about the embassy too. Were the other couple Cathy's sister and BIL? How old is the teenage daughter supposed to be? She looks a similar age to Noah. but she did not go to the party.

It was terrible luck that the family ended up in the same hotel as the journalist's family.

Rosie obviously wanted to help Noah and his family. Does she know more?

Interesting remark from Noah's Dad: but you still had time to do your hair and make up.

The young lad that Noah's mum was looking for looked like he worked at the hotel that she was ushered out of by security as he kept a low profile. Was security the security officer his Dad, possibly ?

So, it's a lie that he's 'going home tomorrow' ?

Also, the girl that invited Noah to the beach party (and her mum) looked really well dressed for someone on a random family holiday.

Was the girl's invitation to the beach party part of the set up ? Is there a real deeper reason why her mum didn't want her and Noah's mum speaking to each other ?

He was forced into admitting he was guilty by the policeman smashing his fist on the table, wasn't he.

I don't trust their lawyer, he's not taking it very seriously.

Agree lawyer is dodge...just trying to get £££ out of the family. I'm thinking that it's an opportunistic scam rather than directly linked to the accusation though. Could be wrong.

There seem to have been refs that the sister and BIL are better off than Sheridan Smith and her family. I could've done without that since it suggests they have other resources they could go to instead of relying on that cheap crap lawyer and actually gone with someone legit (like the guy they saw online who I think the hotel scared them off for being too expensive?).

Might turn out that her son was raped instead of being the rapist. But my current prediction after episode 1 is: not a setup (though the lawyer is a scammer). Hadn't they only just arrived? Seems a bit unlikely there would've been a huge international conspiracy cooked up overnight against them. And to what end?

I think it was consensual. Other family is homophobic or some such and freaked out at the thought of him hooking up with another boy (think this has been foreshadowed with the dad's bad reaction). So other boy said it was rape. However Noah has been the victim of sexual abuse by somebody (current guess is the BIL but it could be anyone) hence the bruises and violent porn*

*I know this isn't how the aftereffects of abuse or porn-watching taste necessarily work IRL but in TV drama land

We'll see what the right answer is.

I did laugh when she said "500?"....as if 500 is going to be enough to get anyone out of a rape charge!

I think the 'victim' has had sex with someone, a male ? For some reason wants to blame someone else and has picked on a here today gone tomorrow tourist family who will panic because they don't know the language or the law.

The 'victim' will continue with the sexual assault allegation rather than admit he had consensual sex with a willing partner before meeting Noah, because that will not suit his homophobic family. I suspect the sex had taken place already, well before the 'victim' set up the scenario which got the police involved.

Did the, 'victim' make a pass at Noah, got turned down then accused him of assault. The 'victim' invited Noah to come to his room and drink vodka........
Or did the, 'victim' have his eye on the girl that asked Noah to the beach party and was jealous of the attention she was giving Noah.

The police are as dodgy as fuck.

Are the authorities all in on it and it turns out to be all to do with money/blackmail ?

Is the 'victim' the Policeman's son ?

Apparently it was filmed in Spain.
They filmed it on Costa del Sol mostly in Benalmadena and Malaga and the prison shots in Almeria. It was supposed to have been Turkey but could not get all the production staff and actors there so they changed the location and said they could change the signs to Turkish. Not watched it yet but intend to binge watch it later today. I actually enjoyed The Teacher despite some of it's glaring mistakes.

Wonder why they lied about the boy going home when it’s obvious he works there and prob Spanish

So maybe it’s a scam. Shout assault and then get £5k from the victims parents who are happy to pay to keep out of jail

I found all the episodes on the app on my TV and watched episode 2 so far, I had to register to use that and it didn't seem that user friendly. I usually like to watch through Sky as it has no adverts but it wasn't there. I see it is also on BritBox so I will seek it out now on there to watch the other 2 episodes as also no ads and I have an offer on BritBox at the moment

I also have to watch through the itv hub app. Why does Sky not show all itv episodes. The same has happened with The Bay. It means I am forced to watch the adverts
