I have it on good authority that the secret ingredient in Betty's Hotpot was indeed Japanese custard.

If I were doing a Strictly-themed dish I would insist to the BBC that my special prop had to be Aljaz's naked torso.

Just asked DH what on earth maple vinegar has to do with Jessica Ennis-Hill.
He suggested that JEH had ample success in the Olympics and "ample" is an anagram of "maple"...

Not sure I've ever seen the judge step in to help before. A lot of the chefs this year don't seem to be quite the same standard as previous years.
