can't wait...it doesn't get much tougher than this !

poor Sheridan !
Kate Spicer's a sourpuss

merryberry · 22/02/2008 10:56

I wanted to wheel the ECT machine out for her last night, could she look any more profoundly, clinically, suicically unhappy/angry? Spicer, not sheridan.

3 days no MasterChef, oh well...maybe if i could have baby now rather than next week i can watch the finals live?

chopchopbusybusy · 22/02/2008 11:02

Shameless - John Torode is coming round for dinner! You must tell us what you are planning to cook. Do you think he will award marks out of 10!

Tbh if I though Kate Spicer was coming round for dinner I'd close the blinds and pretend I had emigrated.

TwoIfBySea · 22/02/2008 11:03

Okay so am I the only one who can't stand Emily and was glad to see Sheridan (Don't panic!) go?

I thought the policewoman should have gotten through. The end 4 are always made up of 3 posh folk and one "accent" who usually goes at the final hurdle. But he didn't and because he is Irish and a single dad I hope Johnny wins! He won't though. Little arrogant smug Emily will as they aren't voting with their tastebuds on that one, well not the ones in their mouths at least.

As for sweaty cooks, remember awful Peter, he was the most disgusting cook, sweating buckets into food that he wasn't messing up and he won (total fix that was too!)

DaDaDa · 22/02/2008 11:09

Kate Spicer has a face like a smacked arse. Sorry, but it's true. She looks like she's lived a lifetime of angst, agony and hard toil.

What does she do for a living? Eats nice food and writes about it. Oh, the trauma.

Emily is starting to get on my nerves a bt with her simpering.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 22/02/2008 11:13

She has eating disorder issues (Kate Spicer I mean) - she did that programme about becoming size zero a while back where she got carried away and started eating even less than she was supposed to until she had to stop because it was too dangerous.

I'm not entirely sure that Masterchef is the right programme for her to be on

DaDaDa · 22/02/2008 11:13

Hope that doesn't sound misogynistic. My DW said something very unsisterly about KS's boobs.

DaDaDa · 22/02/2008 11:15

X posts Kathy. Not sure she's in the right job then?

Showmeheaven · 22/02/2008 18:35

What did you all make of Emily's starter ? OK, it was clever (the runny egg in the middle of the ravioli) but the dish looked digusting! Runny egg sitting on a bed of snot coloured sauce ... barf

MaryAnnSingleton · 22/02/2008 23:25

clever, but think I'd prefer eating the other two's food really..but I am interested in Emily's strange ways, makes for a change. And of course I am intruiged by John's attraction to her...

Q: DP, if i go into labour before Sunday (my due date), what is the most critical thing you must do?

A: Erm....tape the masterchef finals?

100% correct, dear man.

MaryAnnSingleton · 26/02/2008 20:28

merryberry !

OP posts:
MaryAnnSingleton · 26/02/2008 22:40

uh oh, Emily's slipping........

OP posts:
northender · 26/02/2008 22:50

What happened tonight then, do tell. It's the first episode I've missed for weeks.

merryberry · 27/02/2008 04:47

emily's slipping, and not just on her own sweat in belize.... she seized up in the army catering task for the grunts: wrote a menu then just couldn't get started cooking it, had help++ from soldier. James scraped in, Johnny did well. then she needed more help from others in the officers type task, to get her simple starter out. Johnny did not do so well in that one, James did.

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2008 09:04

I love the bit when they cook for real chefs - I see they have Marcus Wareing on, like him a lot...hope Angela Harnett is there too...

OP posts:
iwouldgoouttonight · 27/02/2008 11:13

What do they actually get for winning? I'd expect it to be fantastic with the amount of 'extreme cooking' and 'cooking that doesn't get tougher than this' they're having to do. I don't understand why anyone would give up place at Oxford/career as barrister/etc to run around like a blue arsed fly in a sweaty kitchen!

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2008 11:41

me either, iwouldgoouttonight - they just win more of the same, the chance to work in a hot, shouty, sweaty kitchen...can't see the attraction myself !

OP posts:
Twinkie1 · 27/02/2008 12:05

I sadly think James will win - he badly wants to suceed to be able to support his family - er because as a barrister he wouldn't be able to?

Emily - simpering lisping annoying young thing annoys the crap out of me but maybe that is because she is younger and thinnner than me and gets to be in the same room with John Torode for ages!

Johnny - now I do want him to win but get pissed off with the single dad thing coming up all of the time - it wouldn't sound so good to half the nation if it were a single mum they were harping on about - doesn't have the same sense of him being left by some tart who has run off with the gardener and left him to bring the kids up does it?

Roll on tonight's show.

Twinkie1 · 27/02/2008 12:07

ANd actually all I wanted to say was that I was glad Sheridan went - had a bit of the posh spice about her!

There will go now and google lizard John and get all hot and seaty! (TMI)

CatIsSleepy · 27/02/2008 12:12

i am strangely gripped by the whole thing but find all of them annoying in some way
yes all that stuff about james wanting to support young family etc-surely if he becomes a chef he will NEVER see them?? and won't earn much for a long time? he should just come clean and say it is nothing to do with his family, it's what he wants to do, for himself-which is fair enough!

emily is beyond annoying-and starting to get out of her depth. too young for all this.

RTKangaDYSONMummy · 27/02/2008 12:28

I really don't want James to win but I think he will do

I would like Jonny to win I like his style of cooking

James is too arrogent for me and Emily needs to come back in 5 yearzs time with some experience under her belt - there is tooooo much she doesn't know imho

DS is acting in as play tonight so I will tape it and watch when I come home

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2008 13:31

jAMES WILL WIN...jONNY ANNOYING ME WITH THE 'i'M DOING IT FOR MY KIDS' ROUTINE (sorry, that wasn't meant to be in caps) and Emily won't cope...go to Oxford you foolish girl !

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 27/02/2008 13:36

johnny has an annoying face.
actually so does james. and annoying hair.
emily speaking is unspeakably annoying. "ooh look at me I'm so quirky and creative"

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/02/2008 14:07

yes, Jonny has an annoying face - it's that pendulous lower lip ...dh thinks Emily is like a female Jamie Oliver - I think he meant the lisp..
