I keep hearing rumours but can't see anything set in stone. Does anyone know when the new series of PB starts?

I do miss the theme tune this series.

Gawd. It’s like watching paint dry!

Agree!

youngestisapsycho · 20/03/2022 22:07

Was Finn at the funeral??

StrawberryPot · 20/03/2022 22:08

I do miss the theme tune this series.

Why would they not use the iconic Peaky theme tune? 🤷‍♀️. Would at least have been some compensation for the boring plot and limited appearance from Alfie Solomons.

Yes he was there

I read it's for Helen Mcrory, it's a tribute to her not having the theme tune
XelaM · 20/03/2022 22:34

@Ratatoo Ugh, what a terrible tribute. That theme song was iconic!

I don't understand why the writers introduced another son of Tommy's 2 episodes before the end. Surely we won't have time to explore any storylines with him?!

OnTheBoardwalk · 20/03/2022 22:47

@XelaM agree what’s the point of bringing another son into the mix.

We don’t know anything about Tommy's, Ada's, John's or any of the other children we know exist

TheUsualShitshow · 20/03/2022 22:57

Thought that episode was really moving. The funeral, Tommy and Arthur in the cellar. The end is a bit of a shocker: assume there will be a more bombastic end devised by Tommy rather than a slow demise that's out of his control.

StrawberryPot · 20/03/2022 23:15

Ratatoo - I assumed that was the case for episode 1 which dealt with her funeral. But surely no need to keep it going? In fact I think they did play a bit of it in episode 2 or 3 didn't they?

The other thing I'm struggling with is Tommy's deranged grief over Ruby's death. Unless it's all linked to the effect of his tumour. He hardly pays his children much notice most of the time. And you'd think if family meant that much to him he'd be a bit more interested in John's children and try a bit harder with Michael.

parabalabalabala · 20/03/2022 23:33

Who is the baby that Ada has in her house? I admit I've fallen asleep for huge chunks of this series episodes so I'm a bit lost!
And how many others thought the doctor was going to tell Tommy they'd found lung cancer??

XelaM · 20/03/2022 23:46

@parabalabalabala She had another baby with the black military man (she met him when she was being strip-searched) and he was working with Tommy. He died in a car bomb explosion (most likely laid by fascists). This was in Season 5

marmitedoughnut · 21/03/2022 06:06

I am hugely disappointed with this series so far. Hardly nothing has happened compared with previous series, no theme tune, not enough Alfie, Finn gone with no explanation, Arthur is, well just not Arthur and now they are saying Tommy is ill and got 18 months or so.

Piss poor imo, if Tommy is going to die, and he surely will, it needs to at least be in a hail of bullets or similar as we have come to expect of Peaky Blinders.

Haggisfish3 · 21/03/2022 06:18

I liked it although I agree only two episodes left means a lot will be left unanswered.

Tillymintpolo · 21/03/2022 06:58

They had the theme tune at the end of ep 2

Samcro · 21/03/2022 07:44

can't say i'm enjoying it
find all the molesley stuff repugnant
weird that finn has disappeared.

TottersBlankly · 21/03/2022 07:45

Oh, I loved this episode. So beautiful, and the pacing was compelling and the scattered remnants of the Shelby clan seem to be being drawn together by some invisible magnetising force.

Tommy and Arthur are so lovely together. Though I keep hoping Arthur’s ageing is all make-up and can be reversed with good clean living.

So does this all mean ‘Duke’ will be the central Shelby in the coming film? And no Tommy. In fact, all the small have interesting back stories, as we saw last night … Maybe they’ll go full The Archers and make the film all about dynasty?

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 21/03/2022 08:23

Well he knew Gina was lying didn't he when she said what Michael's game plan was 🤔
I can't see the point in introducing the new son at this point (unless it's for the film as pp said, but meh).
Hope it's an explosive finale.

TottersBlankly · 21/03/2022 08:49

Yes - she wasn’t terribly smart in her body language!

TottersBlankly · 21/03/2022 08:51

That conversation about Arthur letting Tommy win, when they were children.

Is Tommy going to ‘let’ Michael win?

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 21/03/2022 09:10

Aah yes Totters, could be.

StrawberryPot · 21/03/2022 09:20

Most of the symptoms the dr described to Tommy were ones he's been experiencing since long before Ruby got TB aren't they? (Seizures, hallucinations etc)

StrawberryPot · 21/03/2022 09:22

*That conversation about Arthur letting Tommy win, when they were children.

But Tommy and Arthur are brothers. They went through the war together, always have each other's backs, clearly love each other and have an unshakeable bond. Tommy and Michael don't even like each other.

TheUsualShitshow · 21/03/2022 09:38

I read it more as a 'get your shit together in case Tommy gets killed' speech for Arthur.

I thought it was really quite lovely, harked back to the early days when Arthur leaned on Tommy a lot for support right after the war.
