Tho guess the affair /twins one in s1 was a bit naff

I enjoyed the second series so will be watching tonight, I have already watched second part of Rules of the game as there is a clash.

I’m finding the acting really poor so far. I am a wee bit disappointed but hopefully it’s just settling in.

Not off to a great of start am not feeling it....but I loved Morven C as Lisa. It’s not the same with the newbie...hope it picks up ! Wish they’d stuck with previous actors

Quite a few familiar faces....We were saying "ooh, what was she in..." quite a lot! But the youngest brother looked far too old to be a school boy - he looked more like the family's uncle!

I found it all quite stilted tonight.

Agree the girlfriend's dad has to be involved.

@Clawdy yep we kept saying that too oh what were they in !! Re the younger brother we thought he looked way older too no way he looked like he was still school age ...lol! Definitely miscast

@Blondeshavemorefun actress do that all the time it’s their job to take on new roles...I just think Morven was fantastic as Lisa and it’s a pity she left ...anyone know why? The new person just isn’t the same ...that’s my view

But to take over a role where someone else has played for 2 series is hard

If they do s5 of unforgotten whoever take the role will be hard to live up to iyswim

@Blondeshavemorefun true...but i think it's also a bit stilted overall it isn't flowing...hey ho hopefully next few weeks it will improve as I loved the previous two series of the Bay

Bloody rubbish. Wooden acting. Bizarre casting (the youngest brother looked about 35), just crap. I seem to be giving all the 2022 new series so far the absolute thumbs down.

I also had high hopes for Rules of the Game as I like Maxine Peake but it was dire!! Have given up after episode 1 a pile of 💩...it was dreadful . The Bay has also failed so far...

We only just discovered The Bay and binged the first 2 series over the last few nights.

I didn't like last night's quite so much - I really liked Morven and I don't think it'll be the same without her but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now.

This first episode seemed very rushed. In one day, the new lead crashed her car, dealt with her son going to school, 'happened' upon the new murder, comforted the mother, met her new boss, settled into her new office, had a meeting with a therapist, interviewed several family members, had a run in with one of the sons and more besides !

Jamal looked about 35 not school age . I understand he's a deaf actor, maybe it was difficult to find a teenage one. He did well though.

Too early to tell who dunnit.

my gut feeling would be that the girlfriend's family were involved but yep it is too early to tell who killer(s) are...

It was okay. I generally find the bay slow at the start as so many characters and then last 3 good.

I prefer the new actress. Thought the previous one was terrible.

It's ridiculous though that the supposed school boy looks so old. I guess they couldn't find a deaf actor who was the right age but why could the actor not be the older brother?

It’s even been in the national newspapers, viewers saying it’s ridiculous the miscasting...so not a great start for the new series ...

I really enjoyed the new episode - I tried the first series but couldn't get past the first episode (not the lead actress' fault) but I really liked Jen. I suspect the girlfriend's brother may have been the hooded one in the CCTV footage, or possibly the 'best friend' who the victim's mum greeted like another son.

Intrigued to find out why Jen had to have a career break and what made her react badly when the older son had a go at her... I thought the glimpse of her relationship at home was a nice relief and hope it stays that way!

I found it ok. Seen worse.
