Another one who loved Shama.

Watching them scrabble for a definition of boujie made my belly button flex.

I adored The Badger.

I miss Claude but Tim will maybe come tae.

I couldn’t watch you’re fired. The woman guest and her shrieky laugh did my nut in.

My neighbours have a guest like that. Laughs loud so you know what she says is hilarious.

It isn’t.

It picks the grouting out of my slabs.

Yes RIP Stuart. So young Sad

I loved Pants Man

RIP Stuart. Such a sad loss of life at such a young age, and many people still think asthma is just a bit of wheezing Sad

What strikes me about watching these videos of 10+ years ago is how normal and ungroomed most of them are. It's so refreshing. Take me back!

'I'll have to rein in my extreme masculinity!' is, in my opinion, the funniest Apprentice line of all time (and I've watched every series). RIP 'The Brand Baggs'.

That looked 100 times better than the cruise adverts!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 09/01/2022 17:48

Just catching up with this now. Wtf is with the boys logo!? I have no experience in marketing, business, branding etc but whenever I watch this show I am always astounded that these experienced candidates are so clueless that even I could probably do a better job. Is it just because they are so confident in themselves and so bad at listening to anyone else they’re blind to the reality of what they’re putting across?

Maireas · 09/01/2022 17:56

I agree. That has to be the worst logo I've ever seen. The lasses team were bloomin lucky because theirs wasn't great.

mum2jakie · 09/01/2022 20:09

The logo itself would have been fine if they had gone with varied shades of blue. Why on Earth did they think brown and green were appropriate colours?? Oh yes, have you heard of trees?? Grin

The other one was good too that week — Treasure Flakes. They had a pirate parrot and "bowl and cross-spoons" which worked really well.
ChristmasPlanning · 10/01/2022 20:03

Apparently it was t contact lenses but editing? It was explained in a behind the scenes interview

MarshaBradyo · 10/01/2022 23:38

Just watched it

That logo! So bad

And yes all those block colour dresses

Didn’t think Harry should have gone, maybe too annoying rather than made mistakes

covetingthepreciousthings · 11/01/2022 07:30

Can anyone clear this up for me.. in the boardroom, i thought usually when there was a pitch with industry experts involved in the task that usually the experts will say which they'd go for and then that would be the winning team? But in this task it seemed like Lord Sugar just picked.
Or did I miss a bit?!

No, he did say his decision had been based on the experts who'd been at the pitches. He muttered it as if he didn't agree - I think he was trying to convey that neither campaign really deserved to win.
Italiangreyhound · 11/01/2022 08:12

Lord Sugar really annoys me. He sets then uo to fail.

I don't think that's the case. There are two teams with the same task, time and resources and the best one wins.

The tasks don't really mirror real working life though. A major marketing campaign will have a lot longer than two days spent on it. The market research alone can take weeks.

I think a lot of the time in The Apprentice they just rush out any old crap (literally with this weeks logo) rather than turning up with half the task missing. Half a task, however good, won't win.

I thought I’ve recognised Navid.

I don't think he sets them up to fail, the situation is quite pressured, but you can win just by being a slightly better team (like the women this time). It's a good reward at the end.

Goodness me, that's interesting!
Strange relationship, though.

Exhausteddog · 11/01/2022 16:17

I agree I think they are set up for (almost ) impossible tasks ...a bit like Bake off where they have a too short a time frame to execute the task without an element of risk/things going wrong. That's what programmes want drama/fails as it's more supposedly more entertaining than competent people completing a task successfully.

I think they've (in more recent series) been selecting a different type of candidate (for looks, personality, BS factor) not necessarily the best business brains?

Maireas · 11/01/2022 16:25

They're certainly not creative, are they?
Our yr9s produced better logos for the school's recycling campaign.
