I was looking forward to this until I read today that it is only streaming on HBO????
Is it likely to be available anywhere else afterwards?

I won't be watching it (despite being a huge Harry Potter fan) because of the disgraceful way that JKR has been treated. I read a review which said that without JKR's involvement in this reunion, there obviously aren't any new takes or insights into anything to do with the world she created. Recycled old footage isn't the same. So basically, it'll be the actors, many of whom found fame and fortune through the franchise, falling on each others necks and congratulating each other. Without acknowledging the author who brought that world to life.

I'll be skipping it.

Waitwhat23 · 31/12/2021 22:45

And given how many of the cast have been very vocal about how 'abhorrent' they find her views, I really can't blame her for not wanting to put herself in that position.

MichelleScarn · 31/12/2021 22:51

Exactly @Waitwhat23, I wouldn't trust any of the cast or production/editing not to do a 'gotcha' on me if l was JK and use shoddy cuts or editing for nefarious reasons. (It's not paranoia I'd they're really out to get you....)

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 31/12/2021 22:53

I stand with JKR so won’t be watching.

YuleiamsaidI · 31/12/2021 22:55

Hugh hp fan but wont be watching after how theyve treated jk.

ProfessorSillyStuff · 31/12/2021 23:03

Another that won't be watching here, I like the idea of sending love to Jk though!
I always loved Harry Potter, but I couldn't enjoy a screen version where the main characters are played by actors who I know to be willfully ignorant and privileged at best, and spineless snivelling turncoats at worst. The fact that their transgressions are such a personal attack against my personal main shero and role model, a woman who both made them and saved and improved countless lives with hard work and charitable donations, is obviously beyond unforgivable and only serves to illuminate the truly mind bending depths of their idiotic conformity and inability to even percieve of the level of intellect required to execute the kind of masterful plays they must have been privy to in working alongside the woman swiftly catapulting herself toward becoming the most prolific author of all time and never compromising on her vision, her ethics, her sheer dignity...
Fuck them.

Zeflyinghelmetandzevetcelery · 31/12/2021 23:09

Not watching it either. I find I can't bring myself to watch anything with those backstabbing wee ingrates in it any more.

RobotValkyrie · 31/12/2021 23:09

I enjoyed the HP books and movies, but won't be watching this.
The main cast makes me gag. The way they've treated JKR is disgusting (that, and all the empty, gutless virtue signalling, and throwing women's rights under the bus)

AnneShirleysNewDress · 31/12/2021 23:12

I'm an HP fanatic but will not be watching. They're a bunch of ungrateful twats. They need to get their heads out of their own arses and actually read what JK wrote. Rant over!

crazyjinglist · 31/12/2021 23:55

I'm making a probably pointless stand in not watching it due to JKR not being included.

Same here!

Snow1n · 01/01/2022 05:13

How are people sending love to JK?

Derelicthome · 01/01/2022 05:15

I stand with JK Rowling and won’t be watching either.

IHateCoronavirus · 01/01/2022 06:16

Another one who loves Harry Potter, it has been a huge part of our family’s life:bedtime stories, film nights, days outs, etc.

Not one of us wants to watch it, and quite frankly even watching the films, in light of the betrayal of Radcliffe, Watson and Grint, is not the same.

The author isn’t in it, the person who imagined and penned the whole magical world, but many of the key characters are missing too, or dead. The only ones there are the ones whom I respect least.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 01/01/2022 11:15

I won’t watch it either. Without JK it wouldn’t exist.

SarahJessicaParker1 · 01/01/2022 11:30

Also agree that Julie Walters and Maggie Smith not being there means the ones left aren't ones I particularly respect.

I don't really rate the movies aside from Maggie Smith. The books are about a million times better.

SarahJessicaParker1 · 01/01/2022 11:30

Oh and Alan Rickman who is sadly dead, so not there either

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 01/01/2022 12:40

I wonder if MS and JW aren't on it because JKR isn't.

minimecantrollerskate · 01/01/2022 12:54

I'll be watching it because me and DD are mad HP fans and there are other ways to support JKR. I stand with JKR but I am not going to miss the show because of it.

Giggorata · 01/01/2022 13:04

I don't find these actors at all interesting, having heard some of their views, so I won't be watching.

MsFogi · 01/01/2022 13:09

I will not be watching it - I stand with JKR.

MakingTheBestOfIt · 01/01/2022 13:14

We are big HP fans in this household, but I can’t get excited about this for all the reasons mentioned upthread.

DD did say the actor who played Draco came out in support of JKR, but then she has a rather weird crush on film Draco, so possibly can’t be trusted Grin

Snoopsnoggysnog · 01/01/2022 13:16

I won’t be watching either, I have no interest in anything those 3 actors have to say!

Groovee · 01/01/2022 13:17

It's on sky max and I think now tv

Rainbowshit · 01/01/2022 13:20

Not watching it. I stand with JKR.

ILoveMyMonkey · 01/01/2022 13:27

Scared to admit as I’m probably in for some backlash but I did watch it (on now tv for anyone that’s interested) and actually it was nice, they paid their respects to the actors who had sadly died, Emma, Daniel and Rupert all talked about the amazing actors they worked with as in richard Harris, Julie walters, Ralph Fiennes, Maggic Smith etc. They were all very respectful of JKR and noted her brilliance and how her books restored reading among the masses when reading was really a dying trend and their were lots of anecdotes from filming, plus lots of info from the directors and the visions they had for the films.
