I have a 14yo dd, pg at 13 is really shocking and she’s well and truly stuck with him isn’t she. Am I remembering correctly that they were both adopted seem to remember an earlier program speculating on that as a reason for them wanting so many and them dismissing it? None of it sits easy.

Gartanbou · 26/12/2021 10:26

@wonderstuff yes. Both adopted.

I know Sue's parents used to feature in the first programmes.

This one was so staged and edited. Like they'd leave Xmas shopping until 4 weeks before then magically sorting a holiday. Wtf.

I also wondered why on Earth both she and Noel went to the passport office for him just to stand outside.

They did this before with a trip away. Passports not ready in time... may miss flight..:

Producers must think we're idiots.

I noticed this programme did have the P on screen to indicate product placement. Which bloody one? The trip, the barbie house, the car, the appliances Confused

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 26/12/2021 11:04

I am watching old episodes of kids and counting and oh how times have changed.

One episode shows Noel taking the door handle off of a door to keep the kids in at bedtime. Talking about living on a budget. Now it's all spend spend spend. Tat Tat Tat.

Daisypod · 26/12/2021 14:20

Which episode is that @BedknobsNoBroomsticks and where are you watching?

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/12/2021 15:57

I REM seeing the door handle one

I looked them up on tattle life (yes I know it’s a horrible mean girls website) and their daughter is pregnant again and they had a falling out with her and other daughter.

FFS. Someone needs to teach the Radford children about safe sex. Useless neglectful parents.
Atmywitsend29 · 26/12/2021 19:14

@PinkWaferBiscuit

I will simply never get over their ages when he got her pregnant. No amount of pretending they are a happy family and everything is great will ever make the situation right or acceptable in my opinion.
Agreed. Though we aren't allowed to discuss that 🙄

I hope not but to be honest you can see why the older kids would think it was something to aspire to. Their role models are 2 parents who started having babies when one of them was still a child and despite this their parents have raked in probably hundreds of thousands of pounds in TV money, from social media and in gifted stuff like holidays and luxery items.

It's very easy to see why their children would think it was a good lifestyle choice to persue instead of getting an education and working hard for their money.

Gartanbou · 26/12/2021 19:55

Yes. You can't be what you can't see.

If you're not seeing education as a prosperous option then you won't do it.

Chloe quit uni. One of the boys quit the RAF.

If you see a big house with fancy gadgets and holidays as a way of life by having children then that's what you might choose.

You can't be what you can't see. Is a great way of putting it. They see how easy it is to make money by having children, using social media, appearing in Tv programmes and being gifted expensive items. So that's the path they seem to be following. Is there anyone in the children's life who has worked hard to get an education / stable job, who could show them a different life?
Lifeisnteasy · 26/12/2021 20:38

The thing is growing up with 20 odd siblings makes a ‘normal life’ living in a flat with a friend, a huge culture shock. It must feel very odd & quiet. Their personalities will have moulded over the years to have an almost herd-like mentality, used to being part of the pack & not a focus of attention. It’s easy to see how they find life outside of the house a struggle unless they’ve had a few kids of their own to plug the gap.

seekinglondonlife · 26/12/2021 20:47

This family were interesting when they did one show a year. I had to stop watching when they purposely staged a scene in a restaurant to distress their young son with ASD, thinking it was funny for the cameras. They just come across as desperate now.

Cherrytart23 · 26/12/2021 20:50

They both work you do know you get paided for being on t.v right. Also payed by YouTube for blogging.

As for the neighbours isn't it 2 houses knocked through sure I read it was.

Ginger1982 · 26/12/2021 20:55

22 kids is just ridiculous and greedy.

User2638483 · 26/12/2021 21:02

Random thought but have they had covid?
Imagine if it went through them like my family - i.e not all at once but one after the other! Would take months! 😆

TankFlyBoss · 26/12/2021 22:01

@seekinglondonlife do you mean the restaurant abroad with the paella?

I’m sure some of older ones did

When they filmed last year and home schooling

Yes it was the paella incident. Utterly despicable, it was purely for a reaction and the pair of them just grinned from ear to ear.

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 26/12/2021 22:56

@Daisypod

Which episode is that *@BedknobsNoBroomsticks* and where are you watching?
All of their previous shows are on all4.

I can't remember which episode it was either 15 or 16 kids and counting. They also talk about living quite a modest life and how they aren't people who have flash new cars 🙄

Noel works school hours in the bakery because Sue can’t do the school runs and cope with the children by herself.

The house next door is a house of multiple occupancy. I feel so sorry for the people living there. I bet when the kids go to bed at night it’s like finally getting rid of a banging headache.

CallMeNutribullet · 26/12/2021 23:55

Not really on to compare them to the Duggars who are part of a religious fundamentalist cult. They have a completely warped view of sex and marriage, the girls grew up not allowed to wear trousers or show their knees/shoulders. They've arranged marriages for their grown up children almost as soon as they were adults.

Noel definitely had it, and I think some of the children did too.
