Yet Sophie and Chris moved out?

RevolvingPivot · 16/01/2022 12:33

Chloe and Daniel had aspirations. If Sue and Noel honestly wanted to control them and keep them gone I don't think it would have even entered their heads to go away to uni or join the RAF they would have shut it down as soon as they started to mention it. Unless it was all for tv.

woodhill · 16/01/2022 14:00

But somehow they are quite overpowering and their dc struggle to function outside their unit possibly

e.g. Chloe at university

GastroNuisance · 16/01/2022 14:03

Just caught up on the second episode. Very uncomfortable watching Luke coming out at Bi on social media. Then filming everyone seeing the post.

Felt totally intrusive. It should have been kept off TV. It would have been lovely to see them going to pride anyway.

Evening they do can never be undone. Every statement and action is now out there forever. Even if Luke changes his preferences then he'll always have that label.

I know this post is clumsy but that kind of revelation should be private.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2022 17:49

Well he said he was bisexual

So guess covers any relationships in the future

No I agree completely. A friend came out as gay when were 19; 2 years later he “went in” again and said he was actually straight. Later married a woman and asked us all not to tell her, they have kids now and she still doesn’t know AFAIAA.

But I guess with social media most young people don’t have the option of hiding their pasts do they.

GreetingsAndSalutations · 17/01/2022 06:47

I think how someone chooses to come out is up to the person in question, I hope Luke wasn’t pushed into making everything public for content for their show.

I found the reactions to his news a bit off. I don’t know if the 2 older lads (Jack and Dan?) are always like that, no warmth at all or emotion or anything, but it felt very uncomfortable to watch them speak albeit briefly, about Luke’s announcement. Couple that with Luke actually saying he was most worried about those 2 knowing makes me wonder how they would have reacted without the tv cameras rolling. Maybe Luke actually felt t was safer doing it this way?

I think it was just them not being natural in front of the camera It's not just those I think some of the children don't come across as natural or comfortable in front of the camera Some of them are but some aren't
purpleme12 · 19/01/2022 12:40

I don't think Luke is natural/comfortable either in front of the camera ie it comes across he'd never actively choose to say this in front of the camera but because they're there and he presumably knows they need content, however it's been discussed, he agrees

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2022 08:08

Haven’t seen yet last nights yet but said about them going away for first holidays for 2yrs

I haven’t had a holiday since May 2019 or our honeymoon which was meant to be May 2020

Tho didnt they go away at Xmas , or assume this was filmed last year then as too cold to go now to Scotland

Must be summer 2021

Yeah they went to Lapland at Christmas didn't they

Exhausteddog · 20/01/2022 08:19

I watched yesterday's episode they went away in 2 campervans. It was a 7 hour journey. I was amazed that none of their kids are travel sick, especially as not all were facing forward. I don't think I've been on holiday when neither of mine either felt sick or were sick!
On day 1 they ordered pizzas when they got to the campsite at 8.30 (iirc) but they didn't arrive til nearly 10. I'm hoping they stopped somewhere on the way to get food for the youngest ones and they didn't have to wait til then.
I noticed the narrator said Noel was putting the kids to bed but actually it was one of the oldest girls that seemed to be doing most of it.

FrenchyQ · 20/01/2022 08:21

I thought it was a little ridiculous that they all had to go home just because Millie's baby had a temperature, she could have got a taxi to the docs/hospital surely?

If it was urgent enough to need hospital treatment, why would you wait 7 hours for someone to come home to take you? Confused
Could one of her brothers not have taken her? (I'm sure between 4 late teens/20 somethings, at least one must be able to drive?)

RevolvingPivot · 20/01/2022 09:12

3 pizzas for 14 kids and 2 adults?

We have a medium pizza plus chips garlic bread etc. Surely they must have been hungry.

TheDuchessOfMN · 20/01/2022 10:18

Those kids are going to grow up with so much resentment towards each other but mostly the parents

Their food portions have always been on the tiny side, but that really is ridiculous. Shock
FrenchyQ · 20/01/2022 10:55

When Noel complained that the Chinese they had was expensive (£77).Think we spend half of that and there's only 3 of us 🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2022 11:57

Yes we can spend £35 on a Chinese and two of us

We like a variety of dishes

He’s never spent that on a takeaway before and had 22 kids - well 19 excluding older two who moved out and their baby was passed away

They can’t eat much

Agree 3 pizzas seemed madness fir them all

And millies baby being ill. Take her to to hospital , taxi if need be

Don’t wait for them to go home

Plus very surprised they didn’t take her away or didn’t they want grandkids on holiday

The 3 older boys can look after theirselves so didn’t need her to stay or was she cooking and cleaning for them

Did Chloe go

Plus not safely strapped in car seats

Didn’t seem very dark fir 10pm

And was wasn’t phoebe in life jacket standing up on board

Now feeling awfully greedy with how many we cook as a family of 5.
Fizbosshoes · 20/01/2022 12:24

I thought that seemed quite good value for a take away for 14 people although they made a big deal last week about not having takeaways

Although 3 pizzas for 14 kids and 2 adults?
4 or 5 of the kids on the trip are teens, so not all small kids who wont eat much - I'm sure Katie is about 18, technically an adult. My 12 year old would probably eat at least half a pizza that size, if it was a main meal with no sides.

I'm not sure why he seemed a) surprised or b) miffed about it Confused it stands to reason that if you have loads of children you will have to feed them - although a takeaway is perhaps not the most economical way.
In fact you will need to spend a lot more on everything (clothes, shoes, food, phone contracts, school uniform etc etc) than if you had 3 or 4 children

RevolvingPivot · 20/01/2022 12:32

I meant we have a pizza each.*

Yes our Chinese is £45 just for 4 of us.

They don't particularly look unfed either.

RevolvingPivot · 20/01/2022 12:36

How can they have not spent £75 on a takeaway before.

Most of the older kids / teen / young adults weren't there. I bet they could eat most of that between them.

Surely ordering at home would cost more as there are older kids?

I think these are the things that are annoying the viewers.

It's as though the producer phoned up to order random bits and said right you go collect it and whatever the total is say it's a lot.

Guacamole001 · 20/01/2022 13:13

I did wonder about just three pizzas. No wonder the parents are so slim.

purpleme12 · 20/01/2022 13:27

Did they really actually cut the holiday short cos the baby had a temperature which had gone by the time they got back?!
