I watched a couple of clips from the show - one of Millie moving out for a night, and one of them going on holiday and then coming back because Ophelia was ill. I don't get it... like, obviously both were staged, but why would you stage something that makes everyone look so thick?
Millie moving out and forgetting to bring food for dinner, and then being unable to cook it... like, surely she had brought food of some sort for Ophelia, and something for breakfast the next day? Otherwise why did Noel only bring dinner food? So if there was food there, even if it was just bread or something, just eat that for dinner. It's only one night! Or put Ophelia in the pram and go to the shop? And why were Sue and Noel looking so thrilled that she'd phoned them? Surely good parenting means that by the time a child is 18 they can survive on their own for a single night? Do they think it makes them look like good parents when they rush round to deliver food? Because it really doesn't.
Likewise, rushing back from holiday when Ophelia was sick. Of concourse if she'd been really ill that's different, but it looked like she just had a big. And Millie was clearly able to sit there for 7 hours while they drove back. Again, do they think this makes them look like good parents? If a child was ill enough that they needed to come home, why not tell Millie to get a taxi to hospital or a walk in centre? Or get one of the older boys to drive her? Or call Chloe or Sophie who live near by?
I just don't understand why they'd agree to stage things that make everyone look codependent and stupid.
