I watched season 1 before but I watched the whole lot over the last few days. Yes yes yes, so bad but so good! Damn that chef is hot! What a beautiful man 😍

Absolutely ridiculous story lines, dreadful stereotypes and surely if Emily wants to learn French they should be speaking French in the workplace? That’s how she would get immersed and learn! Still enjoyed it though.

I like The Bold Type but I found the last season so very “woke”. Especially the moment when Jane gets told that as a white, straight female she’s not entitled to use the term woke! Enjoyable storylines though.

You'd think, but the series was created by Darren Star, who has a history of casting very slim women in his shows - 90210, Melrose Place, SATC.

Lily Collins was also in a series about anorexia a few years ago and reportedly lost 20lb for the role.

I think she looks noticeably thinner this series and not in a good way.
Also agree about the ghastly colour clashing clothes this time.

Agree, I was also disappointed by Emily’s clothes this time. They did pretty well with Mindy and Camille’s wardrobes though and smashed it with Sylvie’s.

Loved the red dress in the last (or was it second to last?) episode but her day to day stuff is hideous.

The red dress was nice as was the black and white dress with buttons. Also the pink skirt and dark pink bardot top combo.
I also really liked the matching yellow and black maxi skirt and cami top she wore in season 1 her first day at the office.

There was too much focus on Mindy's singing- I wondered if they were trying to use the show to launch a singing career for the actress.

Found the mine artist bits a bit creepy, they weird me out...

Hope they do season 3.

The actress playing Mindy already has a singing career as she's been nominated for Grammy and Tony awards.

The red dress Emily wore in the last episode looked very familiar. I'm sure I've seen it on another actress before.

When they had the dinner party out in the street for Emily's birthday I actually gasped at how thin Lily Collins was. Very concerning and putting her in tiny skimpy dresses made it even more obvious.

I agree, I thought she looked horribly unwell! Not good at all! They’re all tiny but Camille still looks gorgeous and isn’t as horribly stick thin as Emily.

He was horrendous… surely when she saw him in stark contrast to the lovely Gabriel that would put paid to their little romance?! I honestly thought we were seeing the ick developing before our very eyes… but apparently not

Alfies has to be the worst actor in that show, which says a lot ! I hope he is not in Season 3, he made me want to switch off.

Emily is worryingly thin, I don't know how the wardrobe people allowed her thinness to be celebrated like that in the clothes they were putting on her.

I think Sylive and Mindy are the best actors in the show and I love their clothes.

I agree @MrsTimRiggins he was such an arse! So rude to her, constantly getting drunk and all that beer and then suddenly apparently is falling for her? Do they actually have anything in common or have a proper conversation once? No chemistry whatsoever.

Exactly @BiscuitLover3678 he added nothing to the show other than making me cringe regularly. Like you say, there was no chemistry. Plus if she was a mumsnetter, we’d be telling her to run, he was a jealous bugger wasn’t he? Couldn’t take her word for it re Gabriel, he just had to mark his territory directly to Gabriel as well.

I don’t know, the acting was so bad

I found the dreadful stereotypes on cultural norms really annoying. Kate Walsh (my fave actress loved her from Greys) an American money mad boss with terrible taste in clothes and has no manners and she's far from being elegant (the woman just looks elegant so I guess it's a poor choice to choose her), Alfie a typical football and beer loving Brit who seems narrow minded refusing to learn the language and is uncultured, the Ukrainian student who is a thieve 🧐

With the French being unfriendly at first in season 1 suddenly in season 2 we warm to them as they become more friendly and loyal towards Emily but then with Camille and the French Revolution episode just shows them that they can easily plot against you. I only enjoy watching Emily's clothes, some of the humour especially the cinema scene when she thought the actress was a ghost, Mindy I absolutely love. Sylvie's fashion sense is amazing, Emily's clashing colours I love it and just the fun stuff a marketing executive gets to do.

I still don't understand how Emily can afford all those expensive handbags and gowns which costs thousands though working as a marketing executive? I can understand she may get them free maybe from the brands but the agency she works in doesn't promote Chanel, Balenciaga, Valentino or maybe they did but then you would see Sylvie wearing those brands instead as she's the boss and the type that will keep it for herself instead?

I think after that scene of her going for a sweaty run wearing a Chanel blouse like it was an old T-shirt I abandoned any idea that her wardrobe would reflect reality at all.

I remember seeing an article back in the day about how no newspaper writer could afford Carries wardrobe in SATC and the costume designer said 'if course not, it's fantasy.' I think they've applied the same logic (or lack thereof!)

Emily's clothes just don't work for me. I used to love the clothes in SATC, but people have become much more casual in their style since then, even more so since the pandemic. So watching Emily totter around in huge heels with barely there tops, just looks wrong.

I think Alfie is badly written. This is party because of the Gabriel plot and also because, he has been written in the same way as the French characters - a stereotype based on American assumptions.
