@Diddytv

Derxa did she have her nice (normal) hair do ?
Yes she looked fantastic
Gonnagetgoing · 20/12/2021 11:07

@derxa

Arabella Weir was on Sunday Brunch this morning. She was in a right bitchy mood. She told Simon that his pink trifle was horrible. Grin
@derxa - I saw Arabella on Sunday Brunch - and I agreed - she was being a bit 'Mrs Nippy' as Cath (Doon) from Two Doors Down would say - Grin.

She looked amazing for 64 though!

I found an interview with Alex Norton (Eric) on iplayer - Shelf Isolation - a really funny and insightful 30 minute chat with him. The actors that are in Two Doors Down are so talented and hilarious.

I wouldn't have known there was a new series if it wasn't for you lot. I've only seen the first episode. It feels very different, is it a different set or the camera shots are wider or something? Obviously with covid something has changed to spread them all out a bit. I loved their shocked faces when Gordon said he'd never been in a fight Grin

I saw AW on Sunday Brunch. She's great,
says what she thinks and looks radiant. She's done some brilliant TV. Dh and I still quote Posh Nosh to each other
'If you haven't got an aga.......'

Maireas · 21/12/2021 11:08

I think Christine is a very well observed character - she has some brilliant lines and her scathing attitude is spot on.
The Scots wit is there and the nuances of people who are only friends by default.
I had to laugh at how socially inept Alan was, his wife trying hard to be the perfect hostess!

Diddytv · 21/12/2021 11:23

I enjoyed the Xmas episode. It wasn’t too over the top Cathy.

Maireas · 21/12/2021 11:25

"Pat over the back" Grin
Also Christine's honour at doing the reading at Midnight Mass, which was quite touching.

GuyFawkesDay · 21/12/2021 11:27

Oh I cried laughing at the Pat over the back bit. Thought last night's special was great.

bellalou1234 · 21/12/2021 11:28

What chanel is it on?

ChickenGotLegs · 21/12/2021 11:30

How did I miss this, had no idea it was back! That's my viewing sorted for the next few days 😁

Maireas · 21/12/2021 11:40

I laughed ‘til I cried at the Pat over the back bit, I’m going to have to watch it again later 😂
minou123 · 21/12/2021 11:50

"Pat over the back"
coupled with the stoned giggling from Ian and Gordon.

Brilliant Grin

Gordon's overthinking evey aspect of Berg and Eric visiting his parents reminds me if my dad.
The minute we agree to go anywhere, my dad has to plan and overthink every aspect, from which roads we'll drive, what time we'll leave etc

Winterfellismyhome · 21/12/2021 19:42

"Those are fucking stinkin, Michelle" GrinGrin

I loved the Christmas one. And I really like the new couple. But was the wife pregnant? I’m assuming the actor was but the character wasn’t.

Loved the bit after the end credits too.

(Tiny bit annoyed about the lantern as they are a fire hazard and they make me cross.)

Belindabelle · 22/12/2021 20:47

Yes Joy McAvoy was heavily pregnant and her waters broke on set at 36 weeks. She gave birth to a boy a week later.

Only the 3 episodes in this series due to her maternity leave and COVID restrictions making filming difficult.

I used to love this but didn’t enjoy it as much this time. Friends of ours live on the estate where the exterior is filmed and they are sick of the restrictions and inconvenience.

I'm glad someone else picked up on the lantern. We were gobsmacked that they thought that was a good idea

I didn’t realise she was that pregnant! They did a good job hiding it and made it clear that the character wasn’t pregnant with her drinking.

It must be a complete pain living somewhere where they film stuff like that. I wonder where they do the interiors?

FitAt50 · 22/12/2021 21:42

I love Love LOVE this show. I am from Glasgow originally and it reminds me of my parents and their neighbours. So accurate of Scottish people.

Just checked and it seems she is James McAvoy’s sister, who knew.

I didn't know. That's amazing. Clearly a talented family.

Well me, on account of not knowing her name before this thread.

eggandonion · 23/12/2021 16:37

I didn't know that. I thought the lantern was was going to set fire to something Shock in a public information way.

Diddytv · 23/12/2021 16:47

Yes we also though the lantern would set fire to something for the comedy value. It was an odd choice to include it in the show
