@Rhannion " Frankly when a heavy person and a light person fall the heavier one will hit the ground faster, It’s gravity."

Nope they don't,there's a larger gravitational force on the heavier body but also slower acceleration so one cancels out the other.
Was a shit ending though wasn't it 😡

@misscockerspaniel

He said that the coffee was filled to the top and that she would need to take some out and put milk in.

He told her this because he had hidden the phone in the coffee cup.

She knew something was up, so poured away some of the coffee, saw the phone, added milk and replaced the lid - hiding the phone from the police who were searching the house, car and husband.

Thank you! I didn't see the phone, I thought it was a cup of tea with a tea bag in it
Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2021 12:32

@Mooserp

I still don't get the coded message about the drink - why did he need her to take the lid off?
The phone was in a waterproof bag in it

Aaah, so the phone was inside the take-away coffee. That's what I thought at first but thought I was wrong and he had chucked it into the hedge on the main road. I don't know why I got myself so confused!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/11/2021 14:31

Us abs wife said she broke and chucked it

But she kept it. In her purse. Saw it after the funeral

As soon as he mentioned the coffee it felt fishy and obvious that he was hiding something in it, wasn't it?

It has been mentioned to me that this handsome but obnoxious chap didn't move his teeth/mouth much when he spoke and I found myself looking out for it.

And wifey keeping the phone for further ammunition against him if required.

Mooserp · 12/11/2021 15:55

I obviously wasn't paying enough attention!

ChequerBoard · 12/11/2021 16:18

The ending really bugged me.

I'm assuming the scene we were shown of 'what happened' atop the tower was the 'third way' that PC Lizzie Adama made up after the advice from DC Steve Bradshaw? It meant that no-one was at fault, it was all an accident and she could continue ie her career in the force.

The 'first way' being the police's immediate assumption that Farah was crazy and PC Hadley Matthews was a hero for trying to rescue her.

The second way (and I think the truth) being the evidence from the post-mortem indicated a physical struggle between Farah and Hadley over the phone. So he tackled her and they both went over the edge as a result. Hadley is the villain here and Farah killed by him to cover up his racist abuse of her father.

So Steve and Lizzie colluded to cover up Hadley's racism and the failings of the police force to address that on the grounds that they were better inside the force making positive change? Inference being that if they tried to bring justice for Farah and her father they would fail, their colleagues would disown them (for not supporting Hadley) and the force would have even less diversity than it has now?

Or am I thinking about this too much?

Wasn't the phone in his locker at that stage?

I'm not sure - was that Farah's phone or Lizzie's phone?

If it was Farah's phone, then Hadley met Farah, assaulted her to get the phone (hence PM findings). He put phone in locker while she goes home, grabs Ben and proceeds to the top of the Tower.

Hadley and then Lizzie arrives at top of Tower....

First way - mad Farah jumps & takes Hadley over the edge with her
Second way - evil Hadley tries to kill Farah to stop her talking and topples over the edge with her
Third way - they both fall accidentally, no-one deliberately kills anyone. Hadley family get pension, Farah's family at least don't get their daughter vilified as a mad cop killer?

JaneJeffer · 12/11/2021 18:52

Do you think MN could get Kate London to do one of those chat things so we can ask her to clarify? Grin

2020isnotbehaving · 12/11/2021 19:01

I’m sure the writers think it’s all very clever have vague endings but mean while most of us feel cheated invest 3h and still have lots questions.

purpleme12 · 12/11/2021 21:24

I'm just watching episode one still
Why are the police so hostile towards these DSI people who are investigating?

Some dodgy Physics here.

Because they're covering up the racism.

Because the police don't like officers that investigate the police. It's like AC12 in Line of Duty..

purpleme12 · 12/11/2021 21:46

Oh right ok
I tried watching Line of Duty but wasn't keen

Rhannion · 12/11/2021 22:32

I still disagree. A heavier person will fall faster than a light person. The police man had denser body mass so will travel faster that Farah did as she has less body mass. I still think he grabbed her roughly at the wrists and that why they both fell. It was a very narrow ledge and he was unfit to say the least.

Well in general yes but only because of air resistance. If they were in a vacuum they would fall at the same time. As there is air resistance the heavier in general will hit the floor first.

2 sheets of paper have the same mass but a crumpled one will hit the floor sooner.

purpleme12 · 13/11/2021 09:45

🤣

takethattime · 13/11/2021 09:47

Can I ask a grim question about falling off a building. Do you think a person would lose consciousness or be aware. I presume it would be really quick but there must be a few seconds of realisation.

ItsSnotFair · 13/11/2021 10:02

Oh God @takethattime, I never thought of that

DevilWaresPrada · 13/11/2021 10:38

I'm fascinated by the "heavy person and a light person falling off a building, which will hit the ground first" debate.
I've tried googling but can't find a definitive answer.
Anyone?
