There are a few plot holes I feel - first off that old rich guy from the first few eps, what was the point of him? Was he just there to cast suspicion on who was the real killer, because they let that cat out of the bag quite early on.

Also Molly - she was not the usual MO, I wouldn't say she was particularly on Kurt's trail or even on Matt's so why get rid?

I also still think that Angela has pieced this all together a bit too quickly really, why has she done in 9 episodes what they couldn't do in 8 seasons?

The kid that plays Harrison is excellent as are all the other actors in it.

Anyone know if any more new Dexter series are in the offing?

We are really loving this. This week’s episode was the best so far. I like the slow burn, it reminds of the early seasons when it was so good. I agree though, Molly Park should have been killed on-camera.

I hope Dexter doesn’t get exposed by his sourpuss girlfriend.

I thought that the Molly storyline was actually rather effective. I got such a shock when I saw her featured amongst the trophies. I was expecting her to team up again with Angela at Angela’s request, so her death was really startling. I like that about the show - it’s unpredictable.

Is Dexter really in love with sourpuss (great expression PP!) or is he with her for intel on suspects, such as the clown? His scientific job in Miami allowed him to access confidential police info but he won’t have that ability in Iron Lake - he needs a source. There’s zero chemistry there.

Also Molly - she was not the usual MO, I wouldn't say she was particularly on Kurt's trail or even on Matt's so why get rid?

I suppose she was young and female and also as a serial killer podcaster she was a risk to Kurt?

She behaved in an utterly dumb way though, for someone who spent her life researching serial killers. Going out to a cabin in the woods with a creepy man who was behaving distinctly weirdly about the disappearance of his own DS, and not telling anyone where she was going????

I was surprised to see her among the trophies though, although I suppose we were being set up for that when Angela couldn't get hold of her on the phone and then found her stuff in the safe of her old hotel room.

I agree the actor who plays Harrison is well cast and that Angela is a grumpy, cold fish. I suppose Dexter was working on the premise to keep your friends close and your enemies closer?

How is this small town police chief working out that dexter is the bay harbour butcher?

Completely unrealistic. She would not have worked it out with a few clues.

I'm only 20 mins into the 9th ep. I'll watch the rest tomorrow.

I enjoyed the juxtaposition of festive jumpers and songs with serial killing and trophies. The original Miami Dexter had a lot of that kind of humour in it.

The Harrison actor is brilliantly cast. He could easily be Michael C Hall’s son.

I hope that Batista will return in the final ep.

Really looking forward to the final episode. Don't know how it'll end- hopefully there's another season and sourpuss doesn't just get him flung in jail.

I thought the ending was perfect - but OMG! Didn't see it coming at all.

The ending was so much more believable than the original series and made much more sense.

Is it wrong to feel empathy for a serial killer? Haha. The scenes with Harrison and Dexter were just perfectly done.

Though I would have liked Dexter and Angel to have come face to face.

All in all a good ending for a series I feel should have potentially been a few episodes shorter, there was a lot of pointless fluff in the first couple and it could have been whittled down.

Mmmm didn't like the ending was hoping for a second season think the whole thing was a bit meh tbh. Was hoping for more.

Disappointing and rushed, also predictable. I really hoped for a twist!

As a stand alone series it wpild have been 'meh'. But as a Dexter continuation, I didn't like it. I'm not even sure what i'd change as most of it was bad.

It would have been better if the cop shot him in the end though. And if Angel got a chance to speak to dexter. And if we just cut out 95% if that Debra shit entirely because honestly I had to skip those scenes they got so irritating. The serial killer didn't get a good enough pay off. Molly deserved to escape him too or at least to be shown putting up a good fight in a way that somehow led to the serial killer being caught or helped dexter. Or the cop gf should have seen what the serial killer did and decided to let dexter go.

Just..lacking in every aspect really.

Only highlights were the harrison kids acting and seeing angel again.

This season brought closure. The series started off slow, certainly missed sunny Miami and the mosquito/bacon/eggs music title sequence!
It wasn't completely obvious to me how it would end, as there were options, but the ending chosen was fitting. It was clear, unlike the previous finale.
I will miss it, but think there is no need for further series.
Agree with previous posters, that Harrison was a great actor. I ended up really liking him and his acting skills
