A mans body is found on the beach leading detective Matthew vent to the Braun Brethan - a religious group he was in till 19

Good cast including Ben Aldridge - martin shaw - Anita Dobson - and Declan bennet (Charlie cotton from ee) as his husband

We quite liked it, I like things that are a bit slower paced, my need to binge is satisfied as well. Just a shame that some of the acting is poor.

I think there are another 3, 6 in total. Only half way through.

Definitely prefer that this is on nightly. I forget stuff too easily if I don't binge watch and it spoils the enjoyment for me.

Dreary and dull. I wasn't that interested after the first episode but persevered and watched last night and was very bored.

I'm really struggling to stay engaged with this. The scenery is fab, obviously, but it's really slow - no sense of urgency with the police, despite the fact that they're looking for someone who is missing.

And the dialogue . The complete opposite of show don't tell. So much of it having to explain how people are feeling.

The music too - really obvious signalling that 'something' is about to happen.

It's a shame, as I really enjoyed the book.

Why is everyone's house so dark and dreary just one dull lamp on, no-ones got proper lights!!

That's true. But it's the job of the script writers to translate a book in a way that actors can act their feelings, without other characters having to tell us viewers what they are!

Oh my god this is dreary. And tedious. And bloody dark. Could they not afford lighting? Is this a trend? I watched S3 of You on Netflix and that had ridiculous underlit interiors as well. It's annoying and unnecessary.

They are all without exception relentlessly miserable ☹️

That'll be the effect of The Cult. They're not generally known for their warmth of welcome.

Lucy's dad has white hair and looks about the same age as Dennis

Dennis is Martin Shaw from The Professionals and Judge Deed. Far more attractive than Lucy’s dad. Although same full head of grey hair
