A mans body is found on the beach leading detective Matthew vent to the Braun Brethan - a religious group he was in till 19

Good cast including Ben Aldridge - martin shaw - Anita Dobson - and Declan bennet (Charlie cotton from ee) as his husband

Let's hope it's better than some other recent dramas.

Hopefully this is good, I think its from an Ann Cleeves book?

Trailers look like it might be good, but I am very wary after the dreadful Hollington Drive.

Hopefully there is more a plot if it's based on an actual book. HD seemed to have been made up in the car on the way to the set.

Ooh I was just watching Shetland the other minute and saying to DH I wonder when they'll do an adaptation of her latest series. Can't wait to watch this! I know that area of Devon v well too so looking forward to seeing it on screen.

Watching. I enjoyed the book and hope thus is worthy of it. Starting off with a nice menacing reception from the Brethren.

I don’t like it when show you 20 people to start with rather than get to know few at a time. Everyone ends up looking the same maybe I’m to tired watch tonight!

I've read the book (and the sequel) so keen to see if this is as good. I read the first one whilst on holiday where the book is set, so went excluding the locations.

Nearly hour in and can’t remember anyone’s name yet! Like scenery though always good. Maybe I have save and binge watch as by next week I have no chance.

Urgh I'm not a fan of Pearl Mackie. She was pretty awful in Dr Who and hasn't learned to act since then...

Yup! On one hand dead slow and boring on the other detectives dad died, lodger has died, some child from some where been taken and some else talking to women detective about something in personal life or the case which may or not be important.

Some of the acting was a bit ropey but it wasn't the worse thing I've ever seen. The policeman was easy on the eye.
