@MacMahon

People who were addicted to programmes before videos, what does that look like to you? I remember there being "must-watch" programmes for my parents and siblings, but can't picture them being "addicted" because there was such large gaps between episodes.
As an 80,s teen, VCR, s were available, but my parents got one really late 🙄 Neighbours and Home and Away were massive everybody rushed home from school to watch, at one point t Neighbours was only shown at lunch time, but due to popular demand i assume from teens, it got a tea time slot, this was the days before the internet, and the UK was about 18 months behind Australia in storylines, so if you knew someone who was going to Australia on holiday etc you would beg them for storylines 😂

Six Feet Under loved it as such a different show. My new obsession is Succession. New season out soon cannot wait.

Hungryinthefridge · 08/10/2021 04:25

Casualty. When I was seven. Must have watched the same episode on repeat at least 10 times haha. A grim one too where Jude got stabbed 😦 used to like watching it and crying. Weird child haha.

Thanks for the suggestion IrishMel, I've found Six Feet Under on Sky so I can watch it for free. I loved Succession. One of my favourite bits was the theme tune which I think is brilliant with the film footage of their 'childhood' .

Alias Smith and Jones and The Persuaders. I can't say which was first as they both started in 1971.

I can't recall which came first, but most likely either Dallas or 30 Something.

The Monkees, the High Chaparral, and the Man from U.N.C.L.E.

Bonanza was very good. It feels like it ran for years.

The X Files, I saw an episode by chance when I was 12 and was hooked.

I’m now 35 and it’s still my comfort watch. I suffer from anxiety and when I’m having a bad spell it’s one of the only things that will calm me down Blush
