My So Called Life! Jordan Catalano took over my so called life and then they never renewed the series!!

NeedToKnow101 · 06/10/2021 06:35

Tiswas. Every Saturday me and my friend Susie would watch it together and eat the DCM (De Condensed Milk) sandwiches we had made in honour of Lenny Henry's Algernon Winston... character.

Also, The Professionals when I was a bit older (I even joined their fan club 😂)

NeedToKnow101 · 06/10/2021 06:36

@Rockbird

Hart to Hart. No idea why, I was only about 7 Grin
Grin I loved Hart to Hart.
TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 06/10/2021 07:06

@FreezerBird

Robin of Sherwood.
Thank goodness! I was reading this thread feeling quite alone (and old 😂). I LOVED Robin of Sherwood - Michael Praed epitomised that pretty boy 80s look so beautifully.

I was also absolutely hooked on Dynasty and then The Colbys.

FreezerBird · 06/10/2021 11:16

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross It's repeated sometimes on ITV4 - just so you know!

Tana433 · 06/10/2021 18:38

Bad Girls was my first proper binge watch. I had my gall bladder out so needed to rest. Ex DH bought me the boxset and i watched it over the course of a week or so and absolutely loved it. Have recently been watching again as they repeated it on Drama and i have long since given the boxset to a charity shop!

TheMarzipanDildo · 06/10/2021 18:50

Poirot. From the age of about 8.

TheMarzipanDildo · 06/10/2021 18:53

Oh and I had a Jeeves and Wooster box set as a child. I’d take myself off to my room to watch Jeeves and Wooster after Brownies.

Libertaire · 06/10/2021 18:59

I always used to watch The Dukes of Hazzard with my grandad. He loved the General Lee. I loved Bo😍

Lampzade · 06/10/2021 19:03

Grange Hill
Coming from my strict all girls Catholic school, Grange Hill was a revelation

Also Cheers- loved this comedy. I used to have to bribe my siblings to watch it .We only had one tv and they hated it.

Lampzade · 06/10/2021 19:06

@Warmhandscoldheart

Sons and Daughters and The Sullivan's 💕
This brings back memories. I used to love Sons and Daughters. I still remember the words to the theme tune
thehairyhog · 06/10/2021 19:12

"Press Gang on ITV as a 11 year old"

So happy a couple of others have mentioned Press Gang! I was obsessed and wanted to be Linda. Remember buying skirts like hers!

itssarcasmjoan · 06/10/2021 19:18

Buffy

chocolateorangeinhaler · 06/10/2021 19:24

Angel's

PivotPivotPivottt · 06/10/2021 19:29

Big Brother 3 when I was 11 Shock. My mum was obsessed and used to have the live feed on constantly. I watched every episode and then when it ended I got my mum to buy me the book and the VHS. I actually rewatched the full series a couple of years back.

InFiveMins · 06/10/2021 19:30

Bad Girls and Footballers Wives. I was a teenager and completely obsessed.

Also remember loving Breaking Bad several years later and bingewatching it.

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 06/10/2021 19:46

Probably Clarissa explains it all

chaosrabbitland · 06/10/2021 19:49

it was t j hooker , i did love the whole american cop thing as a child and i had a crush on hookers partner as well

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/10/2021 19:52

X-files, although not for long. It was my first experience of those American series that go on forever - when I realised there wasn't going to be an end I lost interest.

Mommabear20 · 06/10/2021 19:54

As a kid it was Casualty 😂
And as an adult NCIS

Monolithique · 06/10/2021 19:55

Grange Hill , this was when it first came out, so late 70s / early 80s. No video so you had to be in to watch it.
I can remember a friend's mum telling me off for being impatient to go home to watch it.

user1493494961 · 06/10/2021 20:00

Emergency Ward 10.

BertieBotts · 06/10/2021 21:40

I used to love Playdays when I was really tiny and apparently I was so upset to miss it when I started nursery that my mum had to tape it for me :o I remember being incredibly upset when the video recorder chewed up a tape. I didn't know what it meant and I had nightmares about a video recorder that mangled things.

Loads of series on CITV and CBBC.

We also couldn't miss an episode of coronation Street. My mum watched it and when we went to my dad's we'd watch it to keep up :o

As an adult or teen probably the first serial that gripped me was Lost. The first thing I ever binge watched though was House!

BertieBotts · 06/10/2021 21:40

Oh no, not House. The OC was before that. At least me binge watching it was.

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 06/10/2021 22:10

Probably Big Brother but only up to (and including!) the series with Jade Goody. It all turned to shit after that.
