Late 80s Neighbours.

WingBingo · 05/10/2021 18:42

The first box set I binged was also 24.

Totally addicted and before I watched it, I thought it was some tosh my mum watched.

The first tv series that you had to wait to watch on live TV was Dallas or Dynasty.

It’s all about the cliff hangers and making you have to watch the next episode.

TinaYouFatLard · 05/10/2021 18:47

Neighbours and Home & Away.

LubaLuca · 05/10/2021 18:48

freshcarnation · 05/10/2021 19:03

Oh blimey. Just remembered 24. That episode when George Mason dies. Terrible

AdoptedBumpkin · 05/10/2021 19:09

Probably Neighbours (early 90s). Maybe there was something earlier, bit I can't quite remember.

As a child I loved The Waltons. When I was a teenager I was addicted to the original series of Poldark with Ross Ellis.

amusedtodeath1 · 05/10/2021 19:29

Jamie, and his magic torch.

onthinice · 05/10/2021 19:31

Neighbours in the 80s and 90s.

Brackenandbramble · 05/10/2021 20:03

@lughnasadh

Mysterious City of Gold, Round the World in 80 Days...

I'm not even sure those are the right titles, they used to be on in the mornings during the summer holidays.

And Thunder Cats, He Man, Terra Hawks..

All my absolute favourites too! Loved the Mysterious City of Gold music! I also had, had, had to watch A Team, Air Wolf, Street Hawk and Knight rider.

Mad Men when it started on the BBC. I used to watch the 3 repeated episodes every week even though it was excruciating at times. I had withdrwal symptoms when it went to Sky.

Nic1701 · 05/10/2021 21:56

@Spiindoctor this is mine too so with land of the giants loved them both I was born in 84 was always a rerun I still watch them both now

Raffles1981 · 05/10/2021 22:21

Quantum Leap. Back to back episodes on a Sunday, loved it. And then Friends. Kids these days, they don't realise how lucky they are! No waiting for one episode a week, getting excited when there was a double bill, then having to wait a whole year before the cliffhanger was answered!

Giggorata · 06/10/2021 02:37

Dr Who, the Tomorrow People, the Man from UNCLE, the Prisoner.

Crazycakelady17 · 06/10/2021 06:17

Home and away/neighbours and book side but proper binged series was Lost I was so disappointed with the ending it got all a bit weird

aprilshowers2015 · 06/10/2021 06:23

The BBC narnia series in the 80's/90's. I used to video it on a Sunday so I could watch it over and over again.
I now have the full set on DVD!
