Anyone watching?

OP posts:

@Wingedharpy I have a feeling he might be Gay too. That's why she's having an affair perhaps.

DustyMaiden · 14/10/2021 11:10

They are clearly mentally deranged. He’s cooking roast beef and prepares a big bowl of salad to accompany it. What kind of crazy is that?

Fenelladepompom · 14/10/2021 13:06

OMG she looks soooo like her mum.

RevolvingPivot · 14/10/2021 13:14

I'm watching but I wish I could skip to the last episode.

onethird · 14/10/2021 13:45

In the scene between Helen and Gareth in the car, Gareth said that he checked on Alex before he went to bed. So, at 10/11 pm, Alex was safely asleep in his bed.

Pat from Ghosts/the police officer told Theresa that Alex died the night before. Did Pat lie? Did Alex leave the house late that night?

BatshitCrazyWoman · 14/10/2021 13:51

Also watching this on catch up and had to turn the subtitles on - what is it with the mumbling?!

It's ok, I'll watch the last one to find out what happened, but it's not great. And I loathe the green in that kitchen!

ChequerBoard · 14/10/2021 13:59

It felt like a filler episode, can't see that much of substance actually happened.

Mooserp · 14/10/2021 16:12

I just caught up with it and was reminded of Nicola Walker, glad to see I'm not the only one!
AM seems to speak either slowly with pauses or very very fast.

Winniewonka · 14/10/2021 17:23

None of the main cast are bad actors but I feel they are in this drama. The script is ridiculous but I want to know how it ends, just hope it's not a copy cat of the first series of Broadchurch as it was looking a bit that way last night.

faithfulbird20 · 14/10/2021 22:17

Anna maxwell Martin is a great actor! It's just this shows really strange and way too slow...the music is a bit too eerie for it's genre...

JoyDivisionOvenGlovesx · 15/10/2021 10:21

I’m finding the acting really, really odd in this. They’re all normally very watchable & believable, but this is just bizarre!

With the exception of Jim Howick, who’s rather good.

JoyDivisionOvenGlovesx · 15/10/2021 10:25

…actually, and Jodie McNee.

Almost feels like those two are in a different programme.

CoronaPeroni · 15/10/2021 11:19

Another one here who doesn't understand Georgie's outburst. Did Theresa actually tell Ben about the photofit etc? Maybe I'm dozing off and missing bits. It seemed like they'd edited out an important bit!

So rushed as well. Within a minute we had Ben up for adoption, a marriage proposal, a raging Georgie and a fiancé in pieces.
They have a lot to get through next week. Explaining why Theresa is like she is for a start. Then confession to the police and wasting their time. Helen's husband's problems and Eddie conveniently visiting at the time of a death. This is without solving Alex's murder/suicide and Ben and Eva's part in it.

Fenelladepompom · 15/10/2021 13:16

Is there only 1 episode left? Wonder why they had so little happen in rhe latest episode then.

Clawdy · 15/10/2021 13:36

I just assumed that Ben had poured the whole story out to Georgie - we saw her going in to chat to him - then she stormed in because she couldn't believe they had done such a cover-up and not gone to the police.

MissMarpleRocks · 15/10/2021 15:23

They are all so unlikeable.

Oops wrong thread.

Fadingout · 16/10/2021 08:25

I’m just catching up on the episode this week and it’s boring. It all feels quite badly acted and the script isn’t brilliant. I’m only half watching it really.

TheOccupier · 16/10/2021 22:26

Finding the whole thing very odd indeed. All these one-child families - it's like China! And what are the boat daydreams meant to signify?

secretbookcase · 16/10/2021 22:39

@Bingowingslikeashieldofsteel

Ah brilliant, add in a school teacher and head who between them appear to have never had safeguarding training in their lives...
That's what DH said. He used to be a school governor and was huffing 'safeguarding'. It was all so implausible, Not going to bother watching a second episode.
purpleme12 · 20/10/2021 00:50

@Hdhdjejdj

The thing with the bereaved parents being northern and saying that they don’t live in a big house but love their son is fucking awful and insulting.
I know I couldn't get that at all! The first thing he said was I know we don't live in a big house or have lots of money but we love our son... As if you need nice things to love your son and give them a good life! And it was the first thing he thought about! So wierd
Tagcurious · 20/10/2021 08:22

@purpleme12 I know. It’s a ridiculous thing to have said.

WhatsUpDucky · 20/10/2021 08:56

Eeek, what's happened? I've no TV for a couple of weeks, can anyone update me please ???
