I'm a bit behind, just seen the episode where they launch the illegal gambling in Salt.

Oh my, it's pure H&A silliness. In a small town where you can't fart without Irene knowing, they managed to bring in a load of card tables, some new chairs and quite a few out of towners all dressed up, through the surf club where half the town either works or hangs out, without anyone noticing 😂

Hoping after today's episode now is the time Chloe sees the error of her ways and decides that she should leave in order to get her life in order 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Honestly almost crying at the scene between Leah and Justin and Theo after John told them about the abuse. Was actually really moved by Theo’s acting, fair play to him.

Chloe still needs punching, mind.

And then Ryder talks about private functions ... didn't they have that for the art auction thing where Tane and Martha and Marilyn were gassed? How come Max went straight to illegal gambling without passing through the private functions idea? (Because it's Summer Bay, I know.)

Yes agree with this. Theo was so annoying in the beginning but he's a much more well rounded character now. I feel like the storyline has been handled very sensitively.

I'm bored of Roo banging on about whether to go to Merimbula, just bloody go already! She needs to get back into teaching, it feels like she has no purpose of her own and she gets more teenagery with Alf every day.

She could be put to better use helping Mac organise (legal) special events at Salt!
(if Summer Bay High is indeed defunct - just realised there are no kids in the Bay, apart from the occasional visit from Jai)

I know @AiryFairy1 it's like they've forgotten the school exists! Need some decent teenagers to make it work. It's frustrating because Roo's character deserves better, she's normally very forthright and I appreciate that they're trying to show how difficult the situation is for her but it's gone on far too long.

Mack should market Salt as a wedding reception venue and have Roo be the wedding planner. In the olden days everyone got married on the beach front. Hayley and Noah had the most beautiful wedding there 😍

It seems that even the writers know that everyone is fed up of Chloe now! Her line today ‘Just admit it, it would be better for everyone if I just left the bay’ YES Chloe, yes it would!!

Haha, that's literally what I said to the telly after she uttered that line!

Are we to believe that Chloe has suddenly started behaving normally and stopped doing her creepy pretend crying and imprinting on Bella?

I was wondering that too. I’ve scanned Back to the Bay and can’t find anything concrete to confirm a redemption or continued creepy behaviour 🤷🏻‍♀️
She still seems bit “poor me” quivering lip manipulate-y, but I can’t tell if it’s real.

I think the convo with several people mean her current lack of weirdness is genuine. But if it lasts is another issue.

I did like Maz's conversation with Chloe.

Yes, I thought Marilyn handled that really well - it was nice to have the old Maz back after whatever that weird shit between her and Roo has been.

I’m SO over the Roo/Martha story - it seems so pointless and so hard to get invested in as Martha keeps disappearing to Merimbula for such long stretches. Every time she comes back, she and Roo and Alf seem to have exactly the same conversations before she decides to go again. It’s like watching Groundhog Day!

In fact, the only story I’m invested in at the moment is Theo’s, which is a bit worrying.

Yeah I think fussing over Chloe is the thing that's really helped Maz resettle. She really should adopt a youngish child

I can’t see the poker nights SL ending well and the Roo/Martha/Alf neverending cycle of drama and despair 😩

And Roo doesn’t seem to work at all - she’s always loafing around the diner pondering whether she should go to Merimbula and see mum or not. Get a job, babe - get some purpose in ya life!

I can't remember when and why Roo stopped lecturing at the university? Agree that the Martha / Merimbula storyline is like groundhog day every episode.

Oh yes, she occasionally does a bit at the caravan park and the bait shop!
