Home and Away thread: everyone to Salt for one of Ryder's cocktails

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 17/09/2021 07:23

New thread here so that we can continue discussing everything important in the Bay: who is hotter - new police officer or potential new doctor? Will new doctor BE new doctor or was that brief superhero moment all we get?

Will Tori and Christian ever get married and by now, how many of us really care? And what next for the Tane/Ziggy/Dean triangle?

Grab a seat, place your cocktail orders, hope that Annoying Chloe doesn't show up, and get chatting!

the whole Chloe stuff is boring and silly.
surely someone would tell her to grow up and go and support her mum.

CurbsideProphet · 05/05/2022 09:48

I'll be annoyed if the Chloe storyline just ends with her crying and everyone forgiving her. Ideally she'll be off to the farm therapy place Bella spent time at and then for a fresh start in "the city".

SleepingStandingUp · 05/05/2022 14:39

I think it they're worried she'll turn hardened killer and whack them l with a rock

SleepingStandingUp · 05/05/2022 14:40

Yes I did think they were wrong to not tell her. Even tho she couldn't have come to see him, I think they should have. Maz really was his first Bay friend

Rummikub · 05/05/2022 15:48

Yes I was thinking that about Max and Ari. She would’ve reacted more than yeah it’s sad.

CurbsideProphet · 11/05/2022 16:32

I'm intrigued by Jazzy's brother and sister. In H&A people always have very flexible working arrangements that mean they can take an unspecified amount of time off!

SleepingStandingUp · 12/05/2022 00:19

And just pick up causal work too like no bother.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/05/2022 00:20

They're not sleeping at the caravan park tho so I don't trust them. Weirdos.

CurbsideProphet · 12/05/2022 08:28

Omg where are they staying if they're not at the caravan park 😳

SleepingStandingUp · 12/05/2022 08:52

The motel of course.

Summer Bay needs a small decent hotel or B&B imo. Perhaps Susan and Karl could "retire" to coast and open one

CurbsideProphet · 12/05/2022 09:02

The motel! I always forget the motel. People usually just stay there when they're having a breakdown / fallen out with everyone etc - Mack, Kieran, Dean, Theo etc.

SleepingStandingUp · 12/05/2022 10:10

A few come to the motel when they're staying for like one night then move to the caravan park so wonder if it will be caravan park or in with Jas? There's only her and Irene right so two beds spare.

Dontlickthetrolley · 12/05/2022 11:35

They used to have The Sands Resort, that used to be a bit posher, what happened to that???

SleepingStandingUp · 12/05/2022 13:44

Goodness knows, that as in ye olden days wasn't it?

CurbsideProphet · 12/05/2022 18:42

Oh yes The Sands Resort. If I can dredge my mind back through the mists of time maybe I vaguely remember Don moving in there for a while when he and Marilyn separated 🤔

So fed up of Chloe's dramatic sighs and "everyone hates me" 🙄🙄

AiryFairy1 · 12/05/2022 22:50

And her quivering lips, so off-putting 😤😅

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/05/2022 07:05

I really dislike Chloe. I used to really find Theo irritating but the insight into his background is giving his behaviour since context so I’m warming to him. However, I presume we’ve got all the Chloe back story - my stepdad went to prison for years when I was young, my real dad turned up again, it turned out he raped my mum and that’s how I was conceived, I killed him with a brick, my stepdad took the blame for me, he died of cancer - and I still feel no sympathy for her, so God knows how she’s going to have her Summer Bay Redemption Arc (see also: Dean, John Palmer, Ziggy…)

chloe is making me not want to watch. she has no redeeming features.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/05/2022 11:29

Yeah you can already see Theo is on his redemption arc whereas Chloe was annoying even when everything was great

CurbsideProphet · 13/05/2022 12:32

Nodding along with everyone's posts there!

Rummikub · 13/05/2022 21:06

Does John Palmer know of Theo/ his dad story (abuse?)

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/05/2022 22:10

Rummikub · 13/05/2022 21:06

Does John Palmer know of Theo/ his dad story (abuse?)

Yes, he does. Theo confided in him a few weeks ago. I think it was when he was scared that his dad would find out that he had been sentenced to do community service.

Ah ok

i like the development of John being supportive of the youths

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 14/05/2022 07:03

So do I. It gives his character some genuine substance and warmth underneath his grumpiness with the surf club tenants (Salt, board shop, gym) and his tightness with money!

Mind you, I can remember John when he first came to the Bay as an angry stepfather who could get quite aggressive with his stepson so the current storyline is interesting in terms of how much he’s evidently changed over the years!

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross I just read your op on this thread - it was September 2021 and you mentioned Annoying Chloe - 8 months later and if anything she’s worse 😵‍💫 surely there’s got to a breakthrough soon, or she leaves?!?!
