I think they've finally unfrozen the rankings since pre-covid, which has meant that Andy has tumbled all the way down to 175 because he's lost his points from his Antwerp 2019 title
And he's still got no luck with his draws, as he plays Tiafoe in the first round

I do agree that Cam is not the most exciting of players, and I've never really warmed to him much- but it is a great achievement.

Crikey. Completely forgot about Antwerp. Just seen that Andy beat Tiafoe 7-6 6-7 7-6 in 3hrs 45 minutes What a marathon!! Does anyone know if it's on Prime? I saw one of the rallies on IG.....phenomenal!!

I saw some of the scores- just at the point in the first set where Andy got a code violation in the first set . Tiafoe looked like he was on course to win the first set, at that point.

I'm not sure if it's on Prime- I was watching Bake Off .

Diddy Diego will be pleased-he had a bye in his first round, so hasn't had a marathon match prior to playing Andy.

I am assuming there were no trainer related incidents today.

The vaccine issue for players seems to be raising its head again with the Australian Open coming up - Djok is saying he might not play - oh dear what a shame …

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out and if any other players decide not to go

I was reading acout the vaccine situation, Fizzy the immigration minister in Australia seems quite firm about jabs for people entering the country- and I will be very suspicious if suddenly it is announced that Djok has been jabbed when he is one of the most vocal anti - vaxxers there is. I won't believe it- and it will look like someone is getting special favours.
I also don't think he will be the only one.
It's absolutely the right of anyone to refuse the vaccine- unless there are real medical reasons not to. I don't agree with it personally but they take the consequences of that.

Yes Raahh I will be cross if they make exceptions for certain people. I think Australia are fairly hardline with this type of thing but we will see

The minister made it very clear he doesn't care if some one is world number 1 or not- they will still need the vaccine- so hopefully there will ne NO exceptions.

I am positively banking on Cock living up to his nickname and not getting vaccinated, plus the Australian authorities not backtracking on their hardline policy. I will be spitting blood mightily disappointed if they let me down

Ugh. Dh starts his new job next week- he does a couple of days in the office- and then will be at home. He has ordered a new desk -coming tomorrow ! and the house is a tip because he is meant to be clearing up ready for it, and getting rid of the he old stuff- but he's had all week and hasn't. I'm getting really stressed.

I switched on about 30 minutes ago - wasn’t really sure when Andy was playing but it’s now! Possibly going into a second set tiebreak - if Andy wins this all bets could be off (but I think Diego is the better player tonight)
