Andy fought very well after the disappointing loss of the first set when he had a set point, it was 3 hours & 3 minutes long! The conditions are so slow there. Andy says he may use the underarm again if players are standing so far behind the baseline!

I've missed the last few days due a hideous migraine, so have only seen the scores .
Just score watching the Berrettini match (DD2 wanted to watch Bake Off )- not looking good - it's 5-3 to Fritz in the second set, and he won the first.

And Fritz has now won.

I still feel very woozy, and don't think I will stay awake for much longer.

I feel a lot more human today, after a rubbish night. I am sick of migraines now. For a few years, I got away with medication and 3/4 a year- since March, I've had several and they are getting worse. I blame my age. . As I hurtle towards 50, I'm blaming everything on my age. .

I’ve just seen a video of Liberty’s Christmas shop (I’m bored ) and they had sparkly tennis ball tree baubles - I want one! (probably cost about 100 quid!)

I've not seen much of the tennis this week at all- but I did see that Daniil lost to Grigor- that will be a blow, especially in the absence of Djok. It was a good chance to close the rankings gap, since he has a lot of points to drop soon.
Good win for Grigor though.

Norrie has made a good start winning the first set 6-0 . That was a surprise with Grigor winning against Daniil

I’ve just discovered that there’s a documentary about Rafa’s academy on prime - I watched the first one - lots of sleeveless Rafa and also very young Rafa - apparently he used to write on his hand ‘no scowling’ - not sure if that worked

Cameron is having an excellent week, isn't he? Now he's beaten Diddy Diego. It means he will go ahead of Dan now, in the rankings, and makes the top 20. He's not a million miles off from qualifying for the tour finals- a couple more weeks like this and he could be in with a chance. (He's 12 in the race at the moment- but Rafa is ahead of him, and he obviously won't be going).

I think I have caught the cold from Ds- (because I have barely been out of the house all week, and not seen anyone) I did take him to an interview last week, and he wasn't well then.

Fizzy I saw that- the foot thing was always a problem, because it has been an issue really 2005. Federer has also hinted at not returning for the Australian open, so I think (with Djok's vax situation) it's fair to say we really are seeing the beginning of the end of the big 3 for the time being. . (Not sad to see the end of Djok, but you know what I mean...).

Not long ago, the statements coming from the Rafa camp seemed to be that he still had a couple of years left in him. I suppose it's wise not to make concrete announcements and then not really make much of a comeback, though. I think if Rafa comes back he will want to be at the top of his game and fully fit. I can't see him wanting to just make up the numbers.

It is on prime but I haven’t managed to see much due to the time difference (I know you can watch replays but I don’t like doing that, it’s not the same when you already know the result, and even if you don’t know the result it’s still not the same when it’s not live).

Yes it’s on Prime Jane - the men’s final isn’t on until midnight so don’t think I’ll be watching that one - the women’s final is on before

They were probably hoping for Taylor Fritz to be in the final as I think he’s a local boy (more local than Norrie or Basilashvilli anyway!)

FIzzy no- it's probably not quite what the tournament directors were hoping for in a final when they postponed the event (rightly or wrongly). It's one thing that none of the 'Big 3' were there- but then none of the top 10 have stepped up either . Or even the top 20 (although Norrie will be now).

Christmas movies - although I did buy some Christmas cards and wrapping paper yesterday and booked my first (and hopefully last!) Christmas night out (in November )

I’m currently dreaming about escaping for Christmas and just having loads of cheese and biscuits (and wine!) for Christmas dinner but will end up feeding the 5000 (again!)
