kazza I ended up missing nearly all of it. Spent most of the the last hour on the phone . It's a good thing it wasn't an important match, or I would not be happy .

Well done to Rafa and his Fabulous Stefan Award.

I also saw that PHH and Mahut (who I always have a soft spot for) won the doubles fan favourite award. Which is nice. PHH won't be going to Australia, because he's not vaccinated- so I don't know if Mahut will partner someone else there. He always seems to be retiring, but never does .

Just watching the Rafa/Shapo match. It's obvious Rafa is far from his best, but he is showing good signs of recovery. He is making a lot more mistakes than he would normally, but I'm sure he's just glad to get back on court and get the experience after months off.

Denis had played him in practice and said he 'killed him' during that. It's looking like it will be 1 set a piece. And I hate match tie breaks. .

I'm trying to get organised. I feel like time has crept up on me, and I am not ready for Christmas at all.

Having said that, I have just watched 'Muppet Christmas Carol' with DD2, because procrastinating is what I do best .

DH has finished work until after Christmas so I'll be gone mental by the end of the week!

Having dh working from home all the time has sent me round the bend- and the fact I know it's permanent now really doesn't help. He doesn't finish work until Christmas eve- so I will find it hard to get anything done with him just sitting there.

And dd2 doesn't finish school until Wednesday, which feels very late - last year they ended term 2 days early due to Covid.

We are going food shopping tomorrow. It's exactly the same food list I do every year . It's going to be hell .

Looks like Shapo is going to win this.

I'm going to try to do most of the shopping on Monday before the schools close because parking will be crazy after that. I'd rather hibernate though.

I survived Christmas food shopping- thoughso many things had short dates, but we got the main stuff.

Just watching SPOTY- I think Emma Radacanu has a very good chance of winning- although in an Olympic year, it could be tougher.

Well done on the food shop Raahh - I had a little wobble earlier thinking about cooking Christmas dinner for 11 - I’ve done it lots of times before but it’s still a bit stressful - had a gin and felt better

We’re watching SPOTY as well - I also think Emma has a good chance - DH is moaning about cyclists that haven’t been nominated. I have got a soft spot for Tom Daley though.

Fizzy I'm sure there is usually a longer 'short' list of nominees. I'd actually like Sarah Storey to win-- she's won so much, and been around for ages (and is a local-ish).

I do like Tom though. Wonder if he knitted a Christmas jumper?

As much as I like Emma and think what she achieved at the us open was amazing I think there are possibly more deserving winners …

I also agree about Emma- she's great, but against people who have established and consistent careers, I think her nomination may be a bit premature- although winning the US was an amazing thing.

I also thought (much as I like Simine Biles) that getting a lifetime achievement award at 24 was a bit odd. It seems a bit final. Has she retired?
