I was listening to the Tennis Podcast’s review of the year and they were talking about the French Open final - it seems like ages ago - I think I’ve erased it from my memory

On the other hand Christmas last year seems about 5 minutes ago - can’t believe it’s come round again so quickly

I seem to have spent the last few weeks mainly buying food

It looks as if Rafa will play the winner of Murray v Evans on Friday afternoon - hopefully it will be on Eurosport

I’d also forgotten that Dirtball Dan was the King of Clay earlier in the year

I saw the draw for this yesterday, and originally the big news was that Rafa would play either Murray or Domi in his first match. I've only just seen that Domi has withdrawn, which is sad. He really doesn't seen to have had much luck this past year- and it all seemed to be on the up after winning the US open last year.

I have everything crossed for Rafa's comeback though.

Just trying to work out what time Rafa will be playing tomorrow- should it be about 3pm on Eurosport? My mum will be very annoyed if I tell her the wrong time and she misses him!

I am really hoping I can watch tomorrow- and that Rafa is fully fit.

Fizzy I would love Rafa to do well in Melbourne- but I think realistically he is probably going to be using the start of the year to assess his fitness. He's come back from numerous injury lay-offs, but this feels different somehow. Not in a good way- but I hope I'm wrong.

I think Fed will retire next year, win it one more time for the 20 and then the ATP will name the Award in his honour, just as they did with the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award.

Yes I'm looking forward to the two old crocks as well! Mugs destroyed Evo yesterday - I know it's only Exho but we still got some lovely passages of play. Nadal looks good from what I've seen of practice. I'm so desperate for tennis I'll watch anything!

Shame about Battle of the Brits but totally understandable - no one wants to risk losing their family Christmas for an event in the next week.
Organisers are saying they will rearrange for next year. I hope they do.

Best of luck to James Ward. He made a top 100 ranking and played some great Davis Cup matches.
He's been really unlucky with injuries but his attitude has been exemplary. A proper pro!
