I'm not really sure Fizzy- it's all a bit downhill!

It felt a bit like they wanted to honour her- but didn't nominate her for the international award - so thought we'll give her this one instead.

Oh I don't like the in memorium bit .

Not really a surprise, but I think Sarah has been robbed. Again. . (And probably more deserving of a lifetime achievement award actually).

And it's funny, whenever a tennis player wins something in this- they never seem to be there. Andy wasn't for any of his awards- and when Jo Konta came 3rd (?) she wasn't there either (but was in a very fancy dress in a hotel room).

Jo Konta was a contender for sports personality of the year??

I remember Andy winning it - he apologised for not sounding very excited but just said that was his normal voice

She was, I think it was the year she won something, and got to the Wimbledon semi final and won in Miami- 2017? I remember wondering why she had been nominated, to be honest.

I think Andy's won it 3 times- 4 , including Young Sportsperson.

Maybe by the time he got the last one, he was a bit bored .

Rafa’s got COVID

Hope he’s ok - he just says he’s had some unpleasant moments and will have to consider his schedule

I thought something was happening- he was non committal about Australia the other day too.

I suppose given the amount of travel the players are doing, it really is inevitable that they are going to come into contact with it, vaccine or not. It's such a shame- he's missed so much through injury already.
Poor Rafa- hope he is not too affected by it.

I've got dd2 off school ill (she doesn't finish til Wednesday) but it's stoma related and she's feeling pretty rubbish.

Christmas shopping is flipping knackering. It doesn't help when you see the headline on The Sun in the supermarket - Omicron is coming to town

I am relaxed and happy - two words I'd wondered if I'd use again. Miss dh always but know he'd want me to be making a new life for myself. Seeing family daily and having snuggles with the grandkids has done me so much good. I didn't really appreciate how much I was missing physical contact over the last year or so. It's very healing.

Well after moaning about having to cook for so many people this Christmas my sister, her partner and my niece and nephew won’t be coming now because of COVID . There will still be 7 of us but I will miss them.

I’m consoling myself by watching the Holiday, drinking wine and eating Pringles - I think I may have peaked too early!

My sister has had covid this week- negative test today- and I have been convinced one the dc would get it (because 3 of ds's friends tested positive over the weekend) but his test came back negative. He's in work tomorrow at 5am though- and Boxing Day.
DD2 is full of a cold- but woke up at 2am last night with an exploded stoma bag (lovely ) Nothing I like better than stripping beds in the middle of the night- and why does no one else ever wake up??

We've booked a restaurant for my 50th next Thursday- I'm convinced it won't happen, or at the very least there will be another 'rule of 6' thing (and there are 7 of us- which was the problem the same time last year, when it was ds's 18th).

Very quiet at Kazza Towers this year. Can't really get into the Christmas spirit. No Christmas tree, just a few understated decorations, no presents for me and DH, only for DS and my dad, and the first time ever I've not got a turkey. Going with roast beef and Yorkshire puds, which I never usually cook. DH currently making mince pies.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, whatever your plans, and here's to a better New Year although we said that last year!

DH is making cauliflower cheese - I think everything is under control … I’m actually sat down relaxing - prepped all my veg for tomorrow - hoping that no one else has a positive test or we will have a lot of food to get through

Just read that Djok has pulled out of the ATP Cup. We can but hope he withdraws from other Australian tournaments

Thiem has withdrawn from the Australian Open because of his wrist injury. Because he and Denis Novak (I think) are no longer playing the ATP Cup, Austria has been replaced by France.

Does anyone know if the ATP Cup is being televised, and if so, where?

I hope Private is ok too.

It's Ds's birthday today- can't get mey head around him being 19 I am 19 , but more than that, I can't get used to the idea that I will be 50 tomorrow.
At least nothing has been cancelled and we can still go out.

kazza I'm so bored of the whole Djokovic saga now- it has really over shadowed everything. I think - if push came to shove- lots of people would say they don't care if he's there or not.
Not sure what will happen with Rafa- he is back training, apparently- but I doubt he will be at the event in Melbourne that he was due to play before the Open.

I think the ATP Cup is on Prime - I'm sure it has been in the last 2 years.

It is such a shame about Domi- he has had a lot of bad luck the past year. Hopefully he will recover soon.
