I hope Mikael has recovered from his Wimbledon injury. He was one of the slippery surface casualties and couldn't finish his match afterwards. It was awful.

DS1 was telling me about an NFL player who claimed to be immune from Covid but had only had a homeopathic remedy and then caught Covid!

I wouldn't put anything past Djok. I've never been convinced that he actually had Covid when he said he did (after the Adria fiasco). It seemed a bit convenient- let him isolate for a bit, and then play in the summer. But then - as I've said before - I don't trust him.

Now where did he get that idea?

Daniil's response to getting booed by the crowd

I like his attitude- it means in 10 years time he will not be a ball of seething resentment like Djok- sitting on piles of money and titles- but still whinging that no-one loves him [him].

Marin has taken the first set in his match against Daniil - which is nice- if unexpected.

kazza I don't understand it. . From what I've read, he would need an exemption from having the vaccine- and I don't see why he should get one. If he does get one- he will no doubt then argue he should be exempt for the Open too. And he will already be in the country.

I really don't trust him, or his sneaky team.

At least we are spared the stand off between Djok and Rafa in the group stages of it though- because Rafa isn't playing.

He has previously said he doesn't agree with the isolation periods either- and to play in Sydney, he will need to be there 2 weeks before- so next week. Is he going to find some way to get out of that too?

I just wish someone would have the guts say, absolutely, categorically, that the rules in Australia are no vaccine, no play. But it seems no-one will- the powers that be in Victoria will probably roll over when it turns out Djok gets an exemption for Sydney. The whole thing stinks- and if he was some qualifier ranked nowhere, there would be no discussion. He's won it 9 times. It's not like he's 39, and time is running out, is it?
