New thread, looking forward to finale, but wishing it really was the last episode, with all storylines and characters ending satisfactorily.

She came across as much younger but the maths make sense. Maybe it’s because children in Gilead are encouraged to stay as children. Until they suddenly have to turn into adults.

I though Serena and Fred was a pity fuck before she handed him over to the Canadians and she was still on a high from him letting her drive the car.

As a viewer, we should have been shocked by the murder. But we weren't. We enjoyed it. We weren't scared. We liked the power the women had. I thought that was very clever of the writers. We've become hardened to Gilead too.

I definitely did not enjoy it. In fact, it made me uncomfortable.

The women exchanged were prisoners. She couldn't have got Hannah, Fred wasn't worth that, also the exchange was possibly under the table. How could nick have got hold of Hannah to exchange her?

Commander Putnam made it very clear that Fred is no longer valuable to gilead. They don't want him back.

In that case I don't understand why they swapped the 20 prisoners for him though? Surely 20 angry women who could tell all sorts of awful Gilead stories being released into Canada would be a worry for them....

Or were they just keen to shut Fred up because he was spilling all the Gilead tea? But also that's a bit like closing the door after the horse has already bolted?

I'm re watching S1. I'm surprised how much better it flows when you don't have to wait a week between each episode.

We don't know whether this was an official swap or if Joseph and Nick arranged it under the table. Fred never made it to gilead which it seems was the plan, so who was expecting him? Joseph and Nick clearly have some power, but not enough power to remove Hannah from her adoptive family.

Joseph has more power than Nick and he owed Nick for saving his life after he tried to escape.

On paper the swap was justified.

But they nick and Lawrence didn't care what happened to Fred.
